but some Serie A fans want to have it both ways .

they'll brag about the high number of goals scored in the season but at the same would try to argue that players like Messi and Ronaldo wouldn't be as successful in Italy because of the rugged defense and tactical nous in the league . Laughing

Well that was out of the blue.

lol Unexpected at this point.
There wasn't the old tune but I thought it was resolved...
at this point ..only I do I think Fiorentina played a nasty to Montella sacking him exactly when Milan and Napoli signed new managers?

p.s. Della Valle sign Mazzarri PLS

They gave Montella a deadline to make his decision on whether he would stay or leave. He didn't give an answer so they ended up sacking him either way.

Montella sacked "for the good of thr club" lol, the club's statement is nothing short of ridiculous, especially that Montella had an amazing season.

Mazzari at Fio would be epic by all means

yep but it' s "strange" Fiorentina took this decision exactly after Sarri aand Sinisa appointments.
I feel Fiorentina waited it on purpose , so Montella wouldn't have got a good bench.
Good news for Fiorentina contenders anyway , Montelllla 4th place trophy legend got the best from various players

No no Della Valle didn't keep good relations with Prandelli.
and now even Montella..
Paulo Sousa is a former Juve legend , it's curious how Fiorentina despite  the rivalry very felt towards Juventus .. often signs former Juve legends. Even Prandelli was this.
Infact  most Fiorentina fans don't want him for this reason.
I think it is also a risk besides , I remind Hakan Yakin was even more hyped than him and he is disappeared now Laughing

on paper he played 3 years with Juve and same number with Inter, but if you ask in Italy about Paulo Sousa the first thought is Juve of course.
I follow Inter since 97 and he played with us in period 98-2000 , yet I struggle to remind his matches with us.  He was finished at that time , he was always injury prone and for this reason he retired when he was 31.
In his Juve experience he was starter when Juve won Scudetto after 10 years and in Champions League '96 ( and so far, the last won by Juve ) , for this reason he is rated highly from Juve fans.
Yes probably " legend  " is exagerrated , but I think is clear now what I meant

Just read that Rugani played 38 games for Empoli as a CB, without getting a single card. All the more impressive that he's only 20 years old. Juve have a gem on their hands.

Rugani was also the only player in Serie A to play every single minute of the season. I'd love to steal him from them but unfortunately I think Juventus are fully aware of his quality.

It's okay. We are going to have Italia's future CB pairing Ely and Romagnoli start for us next season. (:

GDM says Immobile is a 'priority' for Napoli and that his arrival is linked to Higuain.
Seriously big downgrade if that happens.

And this Sarri is pretty crazy isnt he? Wasnt he the one saying that he'd want his team to comprise of 20 Italians in a squad of 25 ? Laughing

Roma's window so far:

Gervinho as good as gone for roughly 13m. We'll use that money to sign Nainggolan outright as well as wrap up deals for Astori and Ibarbo.

Bertolacci and Romagnoli are returning. Bertolacci is expected to have a role in the team and will not go back out on loan. Romagnoli may go out again.

Doumbia looks next to be sold. CSKA have said they will take him back. Destro is returning, but could leave again as Roma are looking hard at Bacca and Dzeko as their top strike targets.

Cuadrado is the top replacement for Gervinho with Mou willing to let him go. Roma want him on loan with 25m option to buy. Inter's also in the frame though.

Torino have slapped a 20m price tag on Bruno Peres so it looks like we may need to offload someone like Ljajic to help fund that move. Gregory van der Wiel is another RB option being mooted. Lucas Digne is still top option at LB.

De Sanctis looks set to stay, but with Skorupski gone to Empoli, we're likely going to sign another keeper. Just remains to be seen if it will be someone who can put Batman on the bench or another understudy for him.
