Liebe Fans,
normalerweise äußere ich mich nicht zu Medienberichten, schon gar nicht über Facebook. Ich möchte diesmal aber einige Dinge zurecht rücken und euch einen besseren Einblick verschaffen.
In den letzten Wochen hab ich, wie ihr, immer wieder gelesen, wo ich nicht schon fix unterschrieben hätte. Heute bei Vertragsverhandlungen hier, morgen beim Medizincheck dort. Am Anfang konnte ich darüber noch schmunzeln, als aber von "Vertragspoker" und "Abzocke" die Rede war, hat mich dass schon sehr nachdenklich gestimmt. Nachdem gestern eine ominöse Zahl in den Medien aufgetaucht ist, habe ich beschlossen, nun selbst etwas dazu zu sagen.
Die Saison 2014/15 ist streng genommen erst am 30.06.2015 zu Ende. Obwohl bisher europaweit noch kaum Transfers getätigt worden sind, wurde von mir von Gerücht zu Gerücht mehr verlangt, lieber doch heute als morgen eine finale Entscheidung zu treffen. Ganz vergessen wurde dabei: Ich habe noch ein Jahr Vertrag beim BVB.
Was mir wichtig ist: das ist alles weder eine Zockerei, noch eine Hinhaltetaktik. Wie es für mich persönlich weitergeht, werde ich baldmöglichst - aber erst nach der Saison und unserem wichtigen Spiel für die EM Qualifikation mit der Nationalelf - entscheiden.

MD and Sport reporting Braida going to Brasil for Gerson and Kenedy from Fluminense. Anyone has any info about them?

If Angel Di Maria is available for a reasonable price, should we try buying him?

We shouldn't. I don't see him as a good fit in our system and I'm not sure in which role he'd play for us, anyway.

Tell me you're not serious. Please.

I will go against the grain and say maybe. But it depends on what you call reasonable and if he has no problem with a more rotational role than any player who cost 80 whatever he cost would be used to having.

I would be interested to hear the reasons why he couldnt do a role similar to what Rakitic does now, defending the right flank and then getting back into he center if we fail the pressing in the defensive transition (he has done that many times in his career, for at least 2 different teams) and attacking the middle or the flank depending on the movement of Messi. I would like to hear why he couldnt do either of those two things.

The issue comes in his ball retention and safety. Could he lower his turnovers? Rakitic isnt the most technical player in the world (nor is he inept in any way), but he doesnt give the ball away much. Though part of that is he isnt getting the ball from the back 4 with responsibility to turn or play under pressing in his own half, rarely ever do you see that, he abandons the midfield in some way to make himself available higher up the pitch should a more direct pass need to be played back from the receiver or should the move break down, be there to cover whichever area Messi/Suarez do not.

And in terms of the value of Di Maria. Could he not play left wing if Neymar was missing? Could we not put Neymar in the middle even and Di Maria to the wing if Suarez was out?

So, overall I would like to hear the reasons why not.

Barcelona have an option to sign Fluminense players Gerson and Kenedy, sporting director Ariedo Braida has said.

Catalan newspaper Sport reports that Braida will now travel to Brazil to assess the two players.

"One of our intermediaries lives in Brazil and he has been working on this," Braida told Gazzetta TV. "There has been an option to sign the two for some time now."

Gerson, 18, is an attacking midfielder while Kenedy, 19, is a forward.

ESPN Brasil was informed earlier this month that Barca had already offered €20 million for Gerson and, while Juventus had made a superior offer, the player would prefer a move to the Camp Nou.

Members of the Fluminense hierarchy have informed ESPN Brasil that they are confident Barca will pay closer to €30 million for Gerson.

Barcelona are currently serving a FIFA transfer ban that prevents any new signings from representing the club until January.

if i remember correctly chelsea wanted gerson, so did another big club

Braida's been working his ass off since taking over for Zubi. Asking 10M for Montoya, and actively trying to get/link us with Kovacic, Gundogan, Pogba, Kenedy, and Gerson

Excellent post. I don't know why people are overlooking how wonderfully well Di Maria did in 2013-14 and/or why they think he can never recover that level. He is young. In Luis Enrique's fast paced counter-attacking system he could help us by at times carrying the ball from one end to the other and at times running off the ball besides pressing and defending. We must consider Iniesta's aging. Its sad to say this but I suspect that his injury problems will only keep increasing and his stamina will keep decreasing. Like you said other than playing in midfield Di Maria can substitute for one of the forwards in case one of MSN is not available. If there are certain aspects of his game that don't suit us they can be toned. I don't think he is too stubborn to listen and adapt. He would have a natural connection with Messi given their time together with Argentina right from the youth days.

We must consider that Di Maria is also a diving rat. I don't care if he recovers his form, I'd rather give Rafinha or Halilović more time than have a Madrid reject wear blaugrana.

I don't know anybody who dives as frequently and blatantly as di Maria.

The myth that Barca is full of divers is quite annoying. CR dives much more often than all the Barca players combined. Neymar cut off on his Brazilian tendency to dive. The only player who dives at Barca is probably Suarez. I don't count exxagerating duels (Biscuits, Alba, Alves).

That's true but you have them, as does every team i wouldn't say that's a reason not to sign a player.
