If Roberto Martinez and Unai both couldn't straighten him out and put some sense in him then yes I think his attitude is worry some. Lucho had him for like 2-3 weeks last summer, and even with Suarez banned he still opted to loan him out and take his chances with Munir and Sandro. Lots of red flags

The problem I have with this is he simply hasnt done anything to deserve being in the team.

I agree with you, I really believe a special coach for him or a special player could get through to him. I wouldnt want to throw him away either.

But, if we brought him back now..it might hurt him more than help, it would be like a reward for doing nothing. We should never have loaned him to begin with, as I said at the time..he isnt that kind of guy.

I have seen this story too many times before.

He is going to these teams on loan, where he is one of the most talented player and he still doesnt play. He will just sulk.

The way to treat players like him would be to let him go from the B team where he dominated to the first team. He would go there and realise he isnt more talented than everyone, he cant play just because he is good with the ball...because everyone is good with the ball. You need to force your way in some other way and when you get a chance, you have to have to desire to take it.

Boys like this, you have to put obstacles in their path to make them realise their limits.

If you put them with players they can see they are superior too, their work rate goes down, they think they are the superstar and dont have to work.

Your right, he has done well at Porto to be fair.

But his game isnt any different. When his opponants play with space in behind, he can be effective was his speed and off ball runs.

When they defend deep or get really close to him (not allowing him to turn and face the goal) he is invisible. He is also still predictable with the ball.

So, I wouldnt bring him back personally even though he has done quite well, including a hattrick vs Sporting.

The way I see it we have plenty of players who can do the unpredictable and pass through their marker.
Tello may not be Neymar Messi or Iniesta dribbling wise but he is great in a counter attack and seeing how we play now he can be really useful.
Much more than Deulofeu anyway.
Last year I wouldn’t consider him but this year after seeing how many time we have scored from a counter r a quick pass from deep I think he can be a fine addition.
He also has decent workrate and can help Alba tracking back if I remember correctly

No, Denis Suarez was loaned for 2 seasons, so he isn't returning this one (if at all).

I know but I read we want to bring him back this summer. We'd have to pay a compensation in that case.

Thanks for the information. This is exactly the kind of details I was looking for.

Among the promoted players, Sandro and Munir are forwards, Adama is a winger, Halilovic is an attacking midfielder and Samper is a defensive midfielder.

So if in any match even one of our midfielders is not available we will have to play Rafinha or Roberto if not a newly promoted player. This includes one Classico, one match against Atletico and matches played for three trophies. Anyway by January we will have to set things right so that the business end of the season does not suffer.

lets say rakitic gets injured for our first classico

we'll probably see a combination of

before we ever see the sergi brothers or rafinha.

Samper is very good. We can trust him. Rafinha is also good enough. I trust him to play against any team in the world. At Celta he gave a lesson of football at the Bernabeu. Roberto is clearly not good enough as CM, but he is a decent enough replacement as DM, and we have Mascherano too. I don't mind signing a midfielder as long he is great (Pogba), but we don't need random names.

Bartra has confirmed his release clause is just 12 milions, which is a bargain for the third best spanish CB. Another mistreated gem that will walk away (if he wants to).

Sell him tbh.

He will be 5th choice next season behind Pique, Masche, Mathieu and Vermaelen so selling him with a buy back clause would be a great idea.

I used to be a Bartra fan, but his evolution or lack there of has left me disappointed. When I see him play, I see flair and zeal, but not the tactical and physical disposition. As a pure defender, nothing that catches the eye. I doubt if he'll ever become a top defender.

As for the other canteranos in contention, I only rate Samper and Grimaldo. Rafinha, Denis, Alen, Adama, Munir, Sandro = not so sure.
