So you're saying the other CB is not at fault, even though he was in a better position to pick Neymar up? He could have easily tracked Neymar and out jumped him.
I'm not trying to defend Luiz here, I'm just suggesting that perhaps this is just a bit of a knee jerk reaction, which is ever so common on GL.

The other CB is the RB, and if he was marking Neymar, he would have a free men at his back and the two CB, Luiz included, would be marking air, as they were.

Not really, it was his responsibility to pick him up as he was marking him and it was he who lost Neymar during the flight of the ball.
By that time it's just too late for the defender to cover for him as the ball has already left Neymar's head, there is no one to blame but Luiz.
And please don't claim knee jerk reaction to hating on Luiz because i have defended him more than pretty much anyone on this forum, in this instance he was at fault and no one is to blame but him.

He was still error prone ie at fault for a goal in less than a minute v United, but he wasnt this bad. Both Mou and (I hate to say it) Benitez made him look somewhat solid when they played him

Inter got Eto'o in exchange for Ibra and bought sniejder, Motta and Milito with the money we got. Inter went to win the CL and Ibra was sold a year later for a fraction oh his purchase price. Nothing comes close to this imo.
