Is Ibra the biggest choker in CL history?
Single handedly keeping City in the competition atm. This is on top of his well documented record of choking the second he is asked to do anything in Europe.
Mediocre striker who is overrated because of his interviews and a few great goals

Pet peeve: it annoys me to he'll that people call penalty saves "misses". A miss is the striker's fault, a save the GK's credit.

Not necessarily... If you're one on one and shoot it straight at the keeper it might be a "save" but it's still your fault

A good penalty is unstoppable, even if the keeper guesses the direction. Hence why even a save is also referred to as a miss.

Even if you shoot straight the GK has to make a decision to stay in place instead of going to either side.

The header was a difficult chance, moving away from the cross on an angle. He certainly should have scored twice before that gift from Fernando though.
Also disagree with those calling it a good penalty. It was struck with a lot of power but that was all, the placement was too low and too narrow.
The tie's only at the half way stage however, Ibra can still redeem himself.

He flops the whole match but ends scoring the most ridiculous and undeserved goal ever.

Re: Is Ibra the biggest choker in CL history?
I just think he is massively over-rated becuase of his interviews and perhaps what he has done in the past.
I was watching the game in a pub and all the guys who were there and you could tell don't consistently watch football were saying hes amazing.
My opinion is that Cavani is a better striker than Ibra, when I said this people acted like it was the most ridiculous statement ever

Aguero, Higuain and Benzema much more. I have never seen Aguero able to make the differenze in UCl for City with exception of that game againt Bayern last year who was more fault of Bayern players(midfield and defense) that the merit of Aguero, in a game that seemed rigged. I don't rember any great performance of Benzema in UCl. Higuain is a great 0 in this competition.
But to said the true even Cr7 is not that decisive, yee he score a lot of goals but 90% of them are useless goals in games already closed by its teammates, or goals against mediocre teams.
I don't think Ibra played that bad last night, played better than suarez for example. More involved in the game, more dribbles, just missed that great chance. The penalty was more a good save of hart

Aguero is choker huh? I wonder who scored the crucial goal to give City league title. Also Voyeurzema is also pretty non-choker rarely seen him bogged down by pressure.

Aguero is not a choker but I'm still expecting more great performances from him ( in UCL and with Argentina ) His injuries are truly holding him back. Ibra is defo less a choker( I hate this word) than Aguero imo.

Ibra has won 10 times the leagues of Aguero, so please don't talk about the league. I talk about the UCl and the NT. For the national team Aguero is always a flop while Ibra is always very good for Sweden. In UCl even though Ibra was not exceptional has always been better than Aguero.

Seriously. If some of the guys being mentioned instead in this thread are anywhere near as good at 34 then good for them.FennecFox7 wrote:UH guys, one thing. You realize how fking old he is. Yeah. Lay off him most people his age are playing for some MLS scrub team

Exactly, Ibra at 34 is still incredible. Can you see Aguero and Benzema being this good in 7 years? The man is a football great.

Re: Is Ibra the biggest choker in CL history?
Big CL choker yes, u can see time and again in the big important matches his plays just drops, and when it doesnt go well, his play just dips even more....it must be a mental thing which is strange for such a top player.... although maybe this time he still can turn it around.

It doesn't drop, and he has had good CL games. His poor CL games came when he was playing with painkillers in the 2nd half of the season just to get on the pitch. He's overplayed every season and people wonder why he burns out for the CL

Re: Is Ibra the biggest choker in CL history?
Only two players in the history of CL have more assists than Ibra, and only six players have more goals. Labeling him the biggest choker in CL then sounds very reasonable, sure. His knock out stage statistics has been pretty good since leaving Inter back in 2009, he has around 0.81 goals/assist per 90 min. Including 1 goal 3 ass against Barca.
He was unlucky last year with the red card (David Silvas attack on him in the last game was more of a red card offence but it didn't even result in a freekick). And the year before he pulled the hamstring in the first leg against Chelsea.
