It definitely sounds like that to me, i doubt two Sky Italia reporters would have different information. Sounds like Romano's info is the same but it's been reported more clearly.

It doesn't matter whether it's closed tomorrow or in 2 weeks. It's pretty clear Cech wants to join Arsenal and we heard Roman won't block it. Chelsea/Mourinho might posture for a bit, but in the end they can't stop it.

Cech can give us 5 years of WC performances. 14m is nothing for him if we were to double the fee.

IF cech doesn't join then we should try and lure Lloris. He will at most make the spurs fans bitter when he hands in a request and begs Levy to join us.

If that fails then a cheeky bid for Leno

Leno is so bad guys, seriously why would you want us to sign him? I would rather keep Ospina than waste money on that scrub.

Just a random name which gets hyped.

Think I saw him once when he conceded 7 goals or something.

Sounds like he's being very vague there, says " can be closed " and " who knows the final and decisive ".

Either that or it's a shitty translation.

Yeah, that's why I went with the second Sky Sports reporter. Probably more likely that a bid has been made or something.

And even if the bid is at £7m I'm sure the add ons it includes takes it well beyond that, as would any final fee in this deal.

I wish you guys would make a move on Schneiderlin or Kondogbia ffs... they're both going to be gone sooner rather than later.

Kondogbia would be at Arsenal by now if Arsene wanted. Not sure what he wants tbh Laughing

Maybe he wants to fully assess Coquelin in pre season (no idea why?) again and make a decision then.

Cech is such an amazing signing if it happens. We haven't had anyone remotely close to him in goal in what feels like absolutely forever.

Just read the translation on his website and it says he "could" about 5 times nothing about that he will.

I reckon he has the same info as the other guy you posted but it's worded differently.

If we get Cech and a solid DM, I wouldn't be bothered about not getting a Grioud upgrade.

Will be good enough for title challenge.

I was a doubter but he has proved to be a level above Ospina/Giroud in terms of importance imo. Of course he could return to crap level but I'm hesitant right now because of his consistent performances.

Szczesny won the golden glove last year as the best keeper in the league. Now everyone thinks he is barley good enough to wear the badge. Coquelin came in in the middle of the year after our back line settled from injuries and tactics were changed to help cover the middle of the park and now he is the GOAT.

Maybe.

But adding a better striker, could potentially be more than good enough.

Football isn't blackjack. We won't lose on anything going over what we think is enough to win. Playing overly conservative on the transfer market really has no benefits for us. Especially considering the injury history and how many competitions we are going to be in, and actually want to win.

We've been linked with Schneiderlin for years now, and every time it's the same issue about price. It's like the one position we just refuse to spend big money on.

It'd be so frustrating to see Kondogbia end up at Milan without us doing anything.

Yeah. Everything looks good now that the deal will be finalised. Very Happy

Also I would take Kondogbia over Schneiderlin. I don't think Wenger is too keen on the latter if you ask me.

Arsenal will offer Petr Cech £100,000-a-week record contract

Arsene Wenger ready to make the Chelsea player the best paid goalkeeper in the club's history with bumper deal

By Jeremy Wilson

Arsenal are willing to offer Petr Cech a pay rise from his salary at Chelsea and make him the highest paid goalkeeper in the club’s history on around £100,000-a-week.

Despite Jose Mourinho’s reluctance to sell Cech to Arsenal, a proposed deal is moving closer and it is understood that Arsene Wenger is happy for Cech to join Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez among the select group of Arsenal players on more than £100,000-a-week.

Cech’s current Chelsea contract is worth around £90,000-a-week but, with Mourinho having made Thibaut Courtois his first choice goalkeeper, he now wants to leave for regular football.

Paris St Germain are also keen and could potentially have stretched their offer to more than £150,000-a-week but the London location coupled with Cech’s desire to remain in the Premier League have made Arsenal clear favourites.

Cech would be among Arsenal’s highest earners, with Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott both also on around £100,000-a-week after agreeing respective new deals in 2014 and 2013.

Walcott’s contract is currently the subject of negotiations but an extension on improved terms is now likely after his strong finish to the season.

A final fee must still be agreed between Chelsea and Arsenal for Cech, with Mourinho having previously hinted that he would be interested in taking a player in return.

Mourinho has also said that he would prefer to make Cech stay at Chelsea rather than sell him to an English rival.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, however, has always indicated that he would let Cech have a big say on his future out of respect for his status as one of the club’s greatest ever players. Arsenal would also oppose any deal that included any of their best players.

Cech has only one year left on his contract and so would be valued at around £10 million but, at 33, believes that he can potentially keep playing at the highest level for at least another five years.

Wojciech Szczesny is aware of Arsenal’s attempt to sign Cech but is willing to stay, learn and fight for his place. It means that Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina would be most likely to leave.

Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon could also follow Cech to Arsenal.

Doesn't look like we're very serious about Geoffrey Kondogbia. AC Milan were reportedly close to agreeing a move before Di Marzio announced that Inter hijacked their deal and are on the verge of signing him.

Meanwhile, O Jogo claim Sporting offered us William Carvalho for €30m and we turned them down.

The Sun running a different story claiming we've bid £28m for him and have to up it by £8m in add ons to trigger his release clause.

If we're balking at £24m for Schneiderlin then no way we're going near those numbers for Carvalho.

Also, Lauren welcomes Petr Cech to Arsenal on Twitter:

#All the best to Cech. Long time without stability in that position and another great gooner move to get the Premier League.

Theory on Reddit is that the fake Tomas Rosicky Instagram account (https://instagram.com/t7rosicky/) welcoming Cech to Arsenal might be what confused Lauren. Almost certain Rosicky doesn't have anything to do with that account but unsure if that's the reason he posted that tweet.

Agreed about Dzeko, if he's available I add him in Falcao's place. Don't know enough about Jonathas but he's being hyped a lot too and has enjoyed a great season for Elche.

Bruno Soriano and Thiago Motta (assuming that's who you meant) would be top options no doubt if as you said we were not looking for a long term DM.

Now that Falcao/Kondogbia are gone as options I'd replace them with Dzeko/Illarramendi in my list if they are available.
