Lack of match time I assume. Since you have Sturridge, Ings, Benteke and even Firmino who would be ahead of Sinclair upfront.

Worth noting RM have not won a league title since they gave Benzema the starting ST spot over Higuain (Higuain was actually more productive in goals/game at RM than Benzema).

Now I don't watch Napoli but his highlights there are really nice (and he directly outperformed Lewandowski last year in their CL group):



There is not a better striker we could buy on the market. He's still in his prime (only 27) and likely will be for at least a few years if not longer.

He's FLOPPED. As simple as that. Has a bottling mentality / is arguably the biggest choker on the main stage so I guess he would fit right in at Liverpool. Great character, amazing technician etc.

Benteke, even for £32m, is better than nothing, but I would place a few bids before bidding for him, just to see if there's anything there. Like, £30m for Walcott. Or just £15m would be €21m at the current rate, could try to get Son for that. £25m is €35m, could see what Dortmund would say if we bid that for Aubameyang. The pound is so strong against the euro right now, that if there just are any decent options for striker in Europe, this would be a great time to buy from there.

I won't be thrilled if we buy Benteke for £32m, but the general attitude in here is too negative towards him.

My thoughts exactly. I'm even tempted to table a £30-35m bid for Lacazette. Also, while Benteke is nowhere near worthy of £32m, he is better than what we have ATM.

42 million euros and lambert for benteke, it's going to fell weird when i don't fell that bad after a loss.

Benteke is not a bad option. For a striker, especially now with Firmino, we need someone that can get into the right spaces and finish. Having someone like Suarez would be ideal, obviously, but on the attack Firmino and Coutinho are going to demand a lot of the ball and create a ton of chances. Between Henderson and those two Benteke will just need to be able to finish at a decent clip to be useful and worth the transfer.

I don't mind it at all, and if Sturridge can come back healthy they will complement eachother nicely as well. I hope you all eat crow...giving up on the season before it even starts FFS.

I dont know about RA but we have definitely given up on the season !

This is such a sensible post. More so in light of the supposed fee for the rumoured move for said Villan.

Huh? 3 RM league titles, 3 Copas with Real (scored a goal in both the 2008 and 2012 supercopa wins), an 'historic' Coppa with Napoli which he was their main offensive weapon, and he scored both goals in a 2-2 penalty win over Juventus in the Supercoppa this year. I wouldn't exactly call him a flop, I thought all you cared about was trophies? Plenty in his case (at least compared to what we have on our current team). Also named to team of the tournament the last two years in Europa.

Time and time again, other clubs are showering us with funds, and time and time again, we are managing to *bleep* it up. Just how daft can a club's management be? Never fails to disappoint me.

It's not about Benteke but rather about his supposed fee. If you are ready to splash that kind of money for him, it's prudent to try the same amount on few better options first. Meaning, at that price Benteke should be the last option.

A Firmino - Higuain - Coutinho would be the best front 3 (well, depending on how Sterling settles at City...) in England by a pretty decent margin. He's better than Costa.

Yes, and Messi couldn't perform on a cold rainy night in Stoke either.

I'm evaluating their talent in a vacuum, relative to their performance throughout their careers so far. Obviously it's predicated on the belief that they'll adjust to the EPL well.

It's not about who we can get. Like I said, it's worth a try to rattle a few boxes. £30-35m is a huge some and it's worth seeing how Lyon, Atletico, Inter or Dortmund reacts.
