I wonder how Carrick and Bastian will cope with PSG's midfield.

Those 2 goals conceded and general defensive display in that 1st half underlined what a calamity our defence is.
Jones and Blind at the back are an accident waiting to happen.

But Blind did nothing wrong. Jones was awful and Shaw had some difficulties. Blind played pretty well, also Darmian didn't let Lucas breath.

Re: 2015/2016 Pre-Season
Blind was caught out a couple of times. His defending is excellent. But to be capable center back one needs more than just defending. Speed and positioning are also vital an that's where his problem lies.
Jones on the other hand though.
Playing 2 holding mid fielders and playing depay in the hole. Seems Lvg' master plan is on display.
Play this shit and premier league teams will destroy us. Like last season watch us fk up the start of the season and then play catch up all the way. Genius of lvg. take a bow.

Re: 2015/2016 Pre-Season
Periera and Darmian have been the highlight of this match.
Sprinkle of quality on a few occasions, but the same problems as last season seem to remain- slow predictable build-up, calamitous defending and square pegs in round holes starting 11. I know it's only pre season but it's showing against a quality organized team.
We badly need a new CB and another additional good attacking outlet.
PSG were just better on the night.

Re: 2015/2016 Pre-Season
We make too many mistakes. Not only in defense, but also when we build up attacks. No risks assumed and still to many mistakes, too many passes from one side to the other of the pitch.
We don't look organised, in fact we are the opposite. We are chaotic when the opponents put pressure on us, zero team chemistry, players don't sync and seem to have different perspectives on how to defend or attack.
Louis van Gaal must work hard to make them understand that football is not an individual sport. Players must learn to keep a shorter distance between them and make more support runs otherwise we will end up losing every ball during a game; they must be alerted and concentrated because in EPL and UCL any mistake can be decisive.

Re: 2015/2016 Pre-Season
Only positive aspects are some individual moments from some players when we could see their talent and potential but honestly I'm tired of this things. We know that we have quality in our squad, we need to grow as a team.
I know it's only a friendly match but from what I've seen today, we don't have a chance to win EPL this season with this style of play and attitude. This game against PSG revealed much more about our team than the other three matches MUTD played in this pre-season tour. We must change a lot until EPL starts!

Re: 2015/2016 Pre-Season
Utter joke of a performance. It was like Darmian vs psg rather than man u vs psg most of the time.
But this lack of penetration, slow build up play, lack of team work all these problems in our game right now can b easily avoided and addressed. Its not even that hard. Can't understand this guy' s logic however hard I try. At least finally he have the players now that he want and yet the he comes up with such weird decisions.
Just a pre season game but still, not encouraging signs at all for the season ahead. Force herera out like this and I will be done with him whatever grand and groundbreaking his long term vision and crap for the club is.
I am overreacting a tad. Let's wait for the season to begin.

Re: 2015/2016 Pre-Season
Be prepared for another frustrating season of baffling experiments and in game decisions, until injuries/suspensions allows him to stumble upon a balanced and winning team- like our last good run of form back in March.
Obviously this is all based on whether he picks yesterday's starting 11 as the set team for the new season (that CB pairing of Jones and Blind ), which looks more and more likely that he will. But then again, LVG is unpredictable, so there is a slim bit of hope that he won't.
Just for the record, I don't think you're over reacting, Glory. We were up against a top, organized and defensively solid side yesterday and last season's problems came home to roost, and he has the players to fix it or atleast improve the situation if he only chooses to play the right players in their natural positions. (Same arguments and frustartions us Utd fans were having last season)
Play Smalling alongside Jones, don't know why LVG doesn't rate Herrera ffs, despite his showing in the latter part of last season, he'll give us an injection of pace in the middle and can contribute to creativity and goals. I want to see Memphis out wide (he's not a no.10, so stop trying to make him one when we have other more capable players who can play that role) where he excelled last season. Hopefully last night is the last we see a Schweini and Carrick MF- Too deep, too slow and too static, leaving a large gap between the midfield and attack. Need one of them sitting deep behind Schneiderlin and Herrera.
That's half way to fixing the issues in the first team. LVG knows more about football than all of us combined, but again I'm dreading he's trying to be too clever at the detriment of the team. Can't afford another slow start to the season and then playing catch up like last season, for sure.
Yep, let's wait and see.
