Xcx is a legend. He even said that Bale is the best PL player to play in Spain

De Gea would go through the motions. He wouldn't be the same.
Dortmund certainly regretted not selling Lewandowski in 2013

Robert Lewandowski won the Bundesliga topscorer award 2013/14 by just going through the motions in his last year for Dortmund. Imagine how many goals he would have scored if he would have put all his effort into it!

De Gea surely wants to fight for a spot for the Euros. This would be his best chance if he impresses with United while Casillas is getting invisible in Portugal. Unlikely he will sulk.

I don't doubt De Gea would put all his effort in it, and as dost says, it's basically a sober squad planning decision Utd have to make, if we assume that De Gea is not extending (which he isn't).
They have to replace him anyway, if they feel they can't yet and another year of De Gea would be better, they can keep him.
He'll leave on a free and everyone will be aware of that.
If they have a replacement, it's usually more sensible to sell.
You get money, and you avoid a year of public discussion and fuzz.
Because even if he gives his best, every great save will make the fans sad, and every mistake will be highlighted, questioned, and connected with the transfer stuff.
I doubt that unrest is what a club needs in a gk position.
They have Valdes, they can sign a young talented gk without too much risk imo, and just get it over with
The one thing that makes no sense imo, is immature posturing, keeping De Gea just to spite him or Real, and acting all butthurt.

DI MARIA ODDS-ON FOR PSG
Sky Bet are reporting that the majority of the money they are seeing on Angel Di Maria's future is for an Old Trafford exit this summer.
PSG are the odds-on favourites to sign the Argentina star, who scored just three goals from 27 appearances in his debut season in the Premier League, while Manchester United are 7/4 to retain his services.

The RW spot is up for grabs. He could easily start there ahead of Cuadrado, Ramires or whoever is playing there.

A top form Predo could potentially start on the RW, but anything less and I doubt it.
He seems to similar to Schurrle to make any sense in signing, though.

what a waste of money he was. infact mourinho buys the odd flop like most managers but he don't seem to get any stick for it.Fußball wrote:The RW spot is up for grabs. He could easily start there ahead of Cuadrado, Ramires or whoever is playing there.

Good post Hans
Dont think the club has spotted a replacement yet. Despite the fact that media is working their arse off to put words into their mouths.
Romero, Cilessen, Navas all those keepers who are one or 2 tire below are getting linked to us as usual.
The only plausible replacement would have been Lloris from the linked names (and of course Cech before he went to N London) but it seems Levy tied him to a table and broke his wrist to avoid him come to us.
And I think if he do have a replacement ready we would be much more open to the notion of selling ddg.
So taking a full season to assess all the options and zeroing in on the perfect one right now is by far the better option for the team.
It makes perfect sense, playing hardball with real. Perhaps not for this particular deal but for any future deals. I mean if Tottenham and Daniel effing Levy can do that, why cant United?! For sending out a message at least this makes sense.
-------------
Real will ultimately win, everyone knows that now more so that they have sold Casillas they will come around and pay us the money woody is asking. They are too big a club to let it pass and wait a year. Their fans have already started making noise and pressure would be big.

Real Madrid have contacted Sergio Romero & are considering him as an alternative to De Gea who's proving to be difficult according to #SkyItalia
Romero alternative
GDM trolling Mehdrid fans hard this summer
Though, to be fair , it makes sense to sign a mediocre GK as backup this yr if they're getting De Gea on a free next year.

Actually it doesn't make any sense at all. What would have made sense is to retain Casillas for another year. Why were Madrid so desperate to get rid of Casillas if de Gea isn't even coming this summer? Did they hate him so much?

Re: 2015/16 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk.V
Lyon manager Hubert Fournier has admitted a bid of around £42m would be enough to sign Alexandre Lacazette.
The French striker enjoyed an excellent season last campaign, scoring 27 league goals, and has been linked a number of Premier League sides including Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
The 24-year-old has a contract with Lyon until 2018 but has so far resisted calls from club president Jean-Michel Aulas to sign a new deal.
And speaking to French newspaper L'Equipe, Fournier revealed that he's confident Lacazette will stay but would be powerless if the asking price was met.
He said: "I'm not worried about Alexandre. "Of course, if a €50-60m (£35-42m) bid was tabled, I will no doubt have to prepare for his exit and wish him good luck, but I really feel like he wants to stay."
if man u and arsenal want a good striker here you go. no point Liverpool making a bid. no good players will ever sign for Liverpool.

He was past it sadly & should have left a year or two ago.
