I wouldn't doubt it.
Paraguay are a very strong team, once they hit their stride, they're hard as hell to score on, let alone beat.

Mourinho On Tottenham -
As we say in Portugal, they brought the bus and they left the bus in front of the goal. I would have been frustrated if I had been a supporter who paid £50 to watch this game because Spurs came to defend. There was only one team looking to win, they only came not to concede - it's not fair for the football we played.

Thats the thing though, he generally does have a good game, but never a "Messi-esque" game for Argentina. I have yet to see him play to the standard he plays for Barcelona with Argentina.
But theres a huge difference between going out on the pitch and having a "good game" in comparison to going out there and showing the world why you are the best in the world and why you do get compared to Maradona. A HUGE difference.
Ronaldo gets the same criticism for not scoring as much for Portugal and he plays as a winger there and in a much more defensive minded team without half the attacking talent Argentina has. Yet its ok to criticize him but not Messi who is supposedly so much better than him? And of course in a team that has alot better attacking talent and plays in an attack minded way?

Your reaction is expected so i'm not surprised at all.
Kirnar and harhar are putting me in stitches.

I said i would do it and your not beyond it mate......
What? He had a good game. What's was so bad about him today?
He was meh, i fail to see what was so good about Messi's performance apart from dribbling past people on the half way line and a couple of good passes.
It was full of failed runs , mis-placed passes and poor decision making in the final third.....
That performance would not even be good enough for a mid-table player matter about " the best player in the world"
I seriously cannot believe what people saw in that performance( besides the Higuian assist) to call it good or great.

And like my uncle always told me. Messi can't do much against South American defenses. They're just so well coordinated

Re: Argentina going home...
yea, this forum never surprises me lol.
Again I will say it. Messi didn't play badly. Uruguay is NOT an easy team to beat, they have a 10000000000000000000x better defense than we rhave.
Football is a TEAM game. It is NOT an individual game as it was during maradona or Pele's time. Defenders are a lot better trained and are much stronger these days. Sure a star player can make a big difference but in a non-coherant team, even the best will be bad.
Time for a new coach.

Nah Messi is just crap without Pep hugging him every 5 mins telling him everything is going to be ok and Xaviesta running the show for him.

It's seems that the majority of the poeple on this forum, thinks that cr7 plays as a god for portugal.. Atleast that's what they say when the messi - cristiano ronaldo comparison gets brought up...
