Can't afford 18M Nolito forget bout Verratti

Half changed my mind on Nolito.

Not changed my mind on his quality, im already convinced about him.

But no doubt about is he is experiencing the best moment of his career right now, he is on fire. In about a year, he likely will go back to normal but he is playing fabulously right now and would prefer to see him play the flank than Arda for example.

Again, me personally, I would never sign the guy. But I am not blind to the trend Barca are going down with their disappointing signings and I wouldnt be as pessimistic as when we signed Vermaelen for example.

Yes, but mostly because he kinda sucked and made our team lose. He leaves, we win the treble again.

Fans were hating on him because he always disappeared in the second part of the season where the going gets tough. He would statpad in easy games we would have won either way and then past christmas he could hardly note a decent performance.

Don't know how this was even possible but it was actually a thing. He would beast it up every fall/bit of winter and then pufff magically he'd turn shit overnight. He was the scapegoat and thats what made him leave. And tbh its mostly his fault, he earned the negative opinions he had been receiving back then.

Its a bit of a shame because hes an incredible midfielder... if he only was faster and didnt have mentality of an abused kid then he'd have made it big at Barca. Its no suprise we won a treble the season after he left lol, with him we couldnt even get a double

that's the only reason we are linked to washed up Milfs recently imo. If player like Pedro doesn't want to be benched than not many Will. Because we are talking about hardly 10-20 mins or a game here and there. Thats why players like Nolito are being approached who would carry the mantle just to give MSN rest.

Lavezzi for 6 milion is much better option than Nolito. They are similar level players, but Lavezzi would be much cheaper.

Nolito is infinitely better than Lavezzi.

Disagree, Nolito can only play on the left whereas Lavezzi can play on either wing. Lavezzi is has a much higher work rate than Nolito and could become our new forward pivot. Furthermore, Lavezzi could become Messi's new token friend which would allow us to finally get rid of Masche.

Mind you I wouldn't be happy with either purchase. In fact, I wouldn't be happy with any of the players we have been linked to in the past 2 years.

6M when he has 5-6 months left on his contract?

Rather wait and pick him up for free this summer, a little depth wouldn't hurt.

I don't have a problem with Nolito only playing on the left, as MSN could all play on the right given the circumstance of a sub or rotation (and lets face it, when healthy Messi will play 100% of every match on the right so really only the left and forward line need backing up). Also, Masch isn't gonna leave for a while no matter what. He will be 32 in the summer next year, and our only hope would be that River Plate come for him but he will likely stay a year beyond that knowing this club.

But I agree 100% with everything else you said towards the not liking any of the guys we are linked with. All of the names we have been linked bar a few odd names here and there which are likely just made up media crap, I really don't like the names

But Nolito currently is creating a ton of chances for Celta and did the same with Spain. Lavezzi on the other hand might have work rate but (at least imo) has clearly already began his regression as a player, while Nolito is in his prime ultimate final form. But yea, I personally wouldn't purchase either if I had a choice and was on the board lol

BC's opinion on Argentine players doesn't matter.

Nolito is not "infinitely better" than Lavezzi. He is in the form of his life, but at 29, it's most possibly a fluke 1 season wonder. He'll regress to the mean sooner or later, and when that happens he is no way possible better than Lavezzi, who is faster and a better dribler, although Nolito is a much better finisher and passer.

Nolito's been playing like this for more than 2 seasons now. He ended last season with 13 goals and 13 assists for a team like Celta. He was already a handful for Alves last season if you remember. This season he's just continuing and is in even better form but it's hardly a fluke like Pedro's 1 1/2 good seasons.

Lavezzi has never shown this type of level in his entire life. Last time he was deemed good was in Italy more than 5 years ago and even then he didn't reach Nolito's current level. Lavezzi's also 1 year older and is used to riding benches for the past 2 seasons. He will add nothing. Rather € 10M more for a useful player.

Lavezzi better dribbler? Again you've got to wonder on which planet you live. Can't be earth. Lavezzi has yet to complete a single successful dribble this season. Meanwhile Nolito is one of the top dribblers in La Liga, only Messi and Neymar have completed considerably more successful dribbles.

I like Nolito, but he is the typical player that reaches his maturity and has one or two good season when he is at his utter peak and then goes back to normal.

Please, don't even start comparing him to Pedro.

Not saying Lavezzi is better than Nolito or anything, but for peanuts, I prefer him to Nolito. Also, Lavezzi is a good signing so we can offload Mascherano sooner rather than later and keep an argentine pal for Messi.

Says a lot btw that the club can't even afford Nolito right now.

More like 8 - 12 mins lol. And that's if MSN decide not to bitch slap their minutes or diva strike lucho.. Otherwise we might be looking at 0 - 3 mins here. Lol
