I dont know.

But its also ridiculous to dismiss how good other players have been even if its different positions including your own Handanovic who's been a match winner for your team as well.

Higuain has been the best but there are others who are catching up.Stop overhyping just for the sake of an argument :coffee:

I saw on twitter that Puyol is now an airport security officer, doesn't make it true.

When was that put to rest? Higuain is still not halfway of doing what Cavani did for Napoli. If he brings the scudetto then it can be put to rest.

And what is that, exactly? Because 1st place in January is not something I recall Cavani ever doing for Napoli, nor is being the European top scorer.

Cavani has consistently scored 30 goals or more a season for Napoli.

Higuain has barely made it past 20 the last two yrs.Only this season its different.

So yeah,he's not there yet.

If we're going to go by numbers alone

Cavani: 104 goals, 24 assists, 11532 minutes
Higuain: 75 goals, 26 assists, 9527 minutes

Cavani has one goal or assist every 90.09 minutes, Higuain every 94.33 minutes. Cavani edges out, but it's not like he's in an entirely different level.

Disclaimer transfermarkt assists.

I dont remember Cavani missing a easy penalty in the dying minutes and crush his team's CL hopes though.

Or maybe that was down to Benitez too (:

But he had tougher competition to deal with, compared to the jobbers right now. Udinese were great, Bologna was a thorn, Milan and Inter were tough, Juve was trying to find its feet, Palermo was an annoying side, Parma was no laughing stock, etc. Not to mention that they had some absolutely crap players in midfield and defense, guys like Sosa, Gargano, Dossena, Aronica, Cannavaro. Only Campagnaro was really fantastic in defense lol.

Do you remember Higuain scoring the brace to be 2-2 and in a position to be so close to making the CL though?

For me Higuain already better than Cavani in Naples , or at the maximum ...  not worse . I don't get why halfway than him.
The guy scored 20 goals on 20 matches  scoring in ALL the big games,it' s hard to remind  a similar impact in Serie A , about last 10 years not even  Ibrahimovic Milito Tevez did it ( it doesn't mean he is better than these, he is not, but the numbers are incredible ) in 1st half season and he is carrying Napoli for Serie A title ( Cavani never carried to fight his team for it ) .
If he won't get the title Napoli will be second anyway and it'd be the closest point to get the title since 1990 , so he never would do worse than Cavani.
Nothing of strange anyawy , he is clearly a CF better than the Uruguayan.

Memories fade quickly I guess.

Higuain is brilliant ATM, as I said head and shoulders above anyone else right now in Serie A. But he's been brilliant just half a season, which is why I say halfway there. The previous two he's just been good. Only now is he scoring clutch goals and putting in performances consistently. Rewind the clock, Cavani is scoring hattricks against every big club in Italy several times. For 3 seasons, while also performing in EL and scoring winning goals against the likes of City and Chelsea in CL.

Napoli has never looked better than under Sarri, and this is not just because Higuain is great, the level of organisation he's infused into the team on short notice is astounding, and it's bringing the best out of Higuain and many other players. This is a major factor in winning the January trophy as someone here brought up.

Wait till the season is over, then we'll see where Higuain truly stands. Juve wins the title? Higuain bangs in 30+ goals... Cavani been there, done that.

I don't deny Cavani was GOAT, simply I believe you're definitely underrating what is doing Higuain now.
He's impressive, and omitting the score 20 goals on 20 matches with all the big matches included he creates also assists and chances. ( Cavani was less in this, basically goleador . Lavezzi made this job ).

Is it all about numbers? Higuain HAS to score the same number of goals before we can compare him to Cavani ?

Judging by eye test alone , Higuain is clearly a superior striker .

Concluded the Coppa Italia quarter final now

Spezia - Alessandria 1-2

Next Coppa Italia semi-final : Milan - Alessandria

Alessandria is a Serie C team Laughing Knocked out Palermo , Genoa , and Spezia ( B ) . Incredible path.

You are rewriting history, it's not clear at all. Higuain has been great this season but Cavani at Napoli was amazing and there's a reason practically everyone wanted him. Laughing

Because he's been shit at PSG by comparison doesn't change that fact, he looked like this decades Batistuta ffs.

Batistuta was leading Fiorentina to win the Scudetto ( like Higuain now ) but he didn't get because he got injured in March 99 , Cavani never :coffee:
