€ 50M is overpriced but what can you do. Young, talented centerbacks won't come for much cheaper. Just infuriating that he had a € 42M buyout clause not that long ago. Could have saved the wasted € 40M on Mathieu + Vermaelen + Douglas and bought him for that but we know how the Barca board rolls.

Agreed with futbol. When you put it as 50m that sounds ridiculous. When you put it as Douglas+Mathieu+Verm it almost sounds reasonable.

If you want cheaper CB's of a good quality go hunt the BL. If you can't find go in Ligue 1 which breeds good defenders. For mid-table clubs go check the Eredivisie!

Liverpool have reportedly sent scouts to watch Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura.


The 23-year-old, who has scored six goals in 29 Ligue 1 games this season, is under contract with the French club until June 2019.

And French outlet Mercato365 claim Liverpool scouts were in attendance during PSG's Champions League last-16 second leg tie with Chelsea earlier this month to watch the Brazilian.

Moura has been linked with a move away from Paris this summer, with Louis van Gaal reportedly keen on signing the former Sao Paulo man at Manchester United.

And the winger has admitted he would love to play in the Premier League.

“It’s a dream for any player having the opportunity to play in the Premier League," he told Squawka last month.

"Everybody knows it is the most competitive league in the world. It’s really great to follow it, as you can’t predict who is going to win the trophy."

In the same interview he also revealed he has already snubbed a move to Old Trafford once in his career, and Liverpool will be hoping he does again this summer.

He added: “It was honestly my choice to join PSG. I have all respect for Manchester United, a great club with more tradition than Paris Saint-Germain, but I really liked the project PSG showed me."

isco would be class if you can get him. and I don't know why that quoted you twice

I know, but cant see him leaving Madrid. He is the last player among Kroos, Isco and Rodriguez who they will let go.
Its hard to replace a player like him. He is a Pure playmaker in the mould of Silva. Shadow strikers such as Rodriguez can be easily replaced.

What? I think Real would keep Kroos and Hames ahead of Isco (just by the simple fact that Isco isn't even a regular starter, they surely don't rate him very highly)

When a starter and playing regularly, Isco was great with Malaga. I think Madrid is holding him back and if he went to another team he would flourish. He is still very young and has a ton of talent. For some reason Madrid values Hames more

Barcelona will attempt to make Mesut Ozil their headline summer signing and are prepared to offer Arsenal Arda Turan, Munir and Sandro in exchange, according to AS.

AS saying that Ozil is "crazy to return to Spain" and that Arsenal are interested in players like Turan, Munir and Sandro. Since Madrid has 2 clauses in Ozil's contract Barca are apparently getting creative.

Madrid gets a third of whatever exceeds 50mill in a hypothetical Ozil transfer. To get around that, Barca would look to include some players and lower the cash.
Madrid also has 48 hours to match offers on Ozil if they'd want. So Barca would wait until the transfer ban is active to make the move.
