This looks incredible
Keaton is finally reaching his full potential. Carrying all these best picture winners. This one is the front runner now from trailers that've come out. Still feel Silence is the favourite though.

Didn't we have some Indians here? Is Jungle Book as big there as the reports suggests?

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
Yes it is, earned quite a lot here. I went on a weekday (just after Barca got knocked out of the CL) and the theatre was full.
I believe it performed way better than BvS also. For BvS I went on the opening weekend and half the theatre was empty.
The Jungle Book cartoon used to be really popular when we were kids (90s kids), so I guess that played a part. Also we do love the special effects.

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
Hello guys, I'd very much like some your help regarding directors.
I am going to write one of my final two papers in the upcoming months. I have chosen to write a critical report on the auteur-theory and how it often has a very subjective point of view regarding which directors can be seen as auteurs.
I'd therefor like some recommendations for a director as my case, who is not very critically respected, who has some kind of distinct style and use of actors.
At the moment I can only come up with Michael Bay and Zack Snyder. But any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Should have a somewhat big sample. Atleast 5-6 films.

Paul W.S. Anderson? Uwe Boll? John Milius?
Edit: There's also Baz Luhrmann, but that might be my personal opinion.

Darren Aronofsky?
Well acclaimed but so are many others being offered here. Don't know what to say, can't think of many directors who continue to get work despite bad performance.

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
What about that *bleep* David O'Russell, Freeza? He's very distinct with his use of actors in that he keeps choosing the same *bleep* actors in every role
Although, I suppose he has critically acclaimed work.

Others I can think of with distinct styles are Terrence Mallick (whose films and style I personally detest) and Tim Burton.

Btw can't wait for Denis Villaneuve's next movie, Story of Your Life. Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner playing lead roles

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
Eh Woody's doing what he's always done, putting out a ton of movies and not all will be good but he makes some gems here and there. As he's gotten older he's gotten less consistent than he was but that's to be expected.
Within the last 6 years he's still got Midnight in Paris and Blue Jasmin, which are both great movies. His recent run looks worse simply because he makes so many more movies than anyone else.
This looks really good to me though. Steve Carrell in a serious role (kind of curious about this after he did well in The Big Short), Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart? It's an odd trifecta of course but one I'm personally intrigued by, not to mention Corey Stoll and Blake Lively. Looks like he has Jesse playing a Woody Allen type character which, though I'm not a big fan of Eisenberg tbh, would be a great fit for him.
