Agreed. The Miz is in the right spot. He doesn't need to be higher up the card.

Miz a midcarder, while boring scrubs like Styles and Reigns with 0 personality main event? Injustice. Like saying Big Boss Man and Ken Shamrock main event over The Rock. hmm

There's plenty of mid carders in the past who were more entertaining on the mic than the main eventers lol. ( in fact a lot of the most entertaining talkers of all time were not main eventers )

Not like it's anything new, besides Cesaro needs someone like him really. Not sure why you are obsessed with pushing every single talker to the main event, the whole show matters not just the main event.

I'd have to say Raven's the biggest talent they wasted. Amazing character and mic skills.

But then again back then you had Austin, Rock, HHH, Jericho etc. Nowadays there are no good talkers in the main event, so it only makes sense to put the ones you do have at the top.

This is gonna sound weird but I feel Jericho at his prime was wasted.

Yeah I know he is a six time world champion but majority of his career he was a midcarder. He did not have a single run as a face world champion, he easily could have been one of the top faces of the company, he was good at everything and was over with everyone. Consequence of Triple H hogging the world title at the Ruthless Aggression Era. Jericho vs Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship would have been much better than Triple H vs Booker T.

Booker T too. Majority of the time he was midcard. If he beat Triple H he would have been the biggest face of the company.

Samoa Joe just beat Finn Balor at an NXT house show for the NXT championship lol.

Firstly a championship changing hands on a non televised show lol? Plus if the plan was to put it on Joe why not just do it at Takeover lol?

All very strange imo.

While I'd like to see a prolonged programme between the two I doubt we will, one will beat the other and then face the New Day and that will be it. (most likely the Vaudevillains imo)

Wtf

They must have fast tracked Balor's move to the main roster recently. He's gonna be leader of Bullet Club.

Jericho's best run was 2008 in his heel run against Shawn Michaels. Before that he was really just a midcarder.

If you've read Jericho's books, it's actually quite telling that Vince gave him the ball in 2002 winning the undisputed title, but that reign completely lost Vince's confidence in him. He was put in midcard from 2002 till 2005 not because they wanted to push others in the main event, or that they felt Jericho could help boaster the midcard, but because he was seen as a midcarder.

And sure he's a 6 time champion, but I don't really count his first reign winning the WCW title No Mercy and then losing it like a month later, or winning the WCW title and WWE title on the same night and having that count as 2 title reigns.

In essence Jericho has always been a jobber to the stars/midcarder. But really, it's partly his own fault for agreeing to put over everyone. When you lose to 80yr old Ric Flair clean, that's not a wise career move.

I think so too and have done ever since Reigns was attacked, not that I'm particularly bothered as I think an AJ and Balor feud would be fun.

Found some attitude era IWC posts. hmm

Here is one angry poster referring to his dislike for the Rock...
Quote:
ALL HE DOES IS TALK. HIS MATCHES ARE SUB-STANDARD. HIS FANS ARE MOSTLY
LITTLE GIRLS AND HOMOS WHO HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM. WHERE WERE ALL THESE
FANS A YEAR AGO AT WRESTLEMANIA 15.

how *bleep* feasible would it be to have Chris Jericho as WWF champ?
sure, i give him mad credit for his mic skills, which are even gettin a
little annoyin as of late, but his wrestlin skills are shit! the ONLY
good move he has is the drop kick off the rope. his punches are lame as
*bleep*, his knee shots to the chest and face look pathetic and
that 'walls of Jericho' is one of the most ridiculous submission moves
i have ever seen. how does he, or whoever came up with that stupid
submission, actually think that move would actually hurt at all? at
least the figure-4 leg-lock really does hurt when applied right as do
other submissions. and like i said before, his suckin up to the crowd
constantly makes him look like a pussy. the way he lands in that spring-
board moonsault off the rope is softer than Downy-washed clothes for
*bleep*-sake. i know he's not supposed to hurt the wrestlers but he has to
make it LOOK like he hurts them at least. i don't care how much
screamin and rantin JR does, Jericho needs to improve his performace
skills dramatically AND he needs to turn full-heel. i can't believe
that no one else can notice these obvious faults. Jericho-->mic work '8'
-->in-ring performance '0'

Worst Wrestlers
Stone Cold: He's so over-rated, his gimmick is old and boring, he's got no
moves, the stunner doesn't look like a real move I could go on forever.

I was sick and tired of Stone Cold, he isn't a good wreslter anyway. He has
just as much stamina as Chyna which alot. They both start out fast and end
up slow, most of their of their matches are boring.

There is no doubt that the Rock is loved by his Millions and Millions of
fans and he is very entertaining, yet i think its about time that he
learnt some new catch phrases and new moves.

I Rocks matches are all pretty much the same, he lays the smackdown on
his opponent in the corner, he start to struggle, he then comes back
with a DDT, then a Samoan drop, then the rock bottom, then one of the
worst moves in sports entertainment today the peoples elbow.

I know it is what the people want and love but it is a bit repetitive.

Why is it that everyone seems to believe that mic skills are so
important in wrestling?
Granted the top stars should be able to show off their personality but
it gets lame fast, especially as the ones alleged to be the best
talkers only repeat the same phrases over and over again.
Also about half of the wrestlers think that to be over you must speak
while pacing up and down the ring with eyes glued to the floor and
referring to themselves in the third person. BORING!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in agreement with you, sir. I think Vinnie Mac is running out of ideas,
especially with all his main eventers being absent. He's grabbing at straws,
and as much as I like Jericho...he's not ready to main event. Neither is
Benoit. The REAL action is in WCW. Even Hulk Hogan is putting on 4 star
matches now with Billy Kidman. And why would you stick with the same lame crap
like Triple-H vs. Shane or listen to McMahon do the same tired microphone spiel
for 15 minutes at the beginning of Raw when you could be seeing guys like Mike
Awesome, Booker T, Sting, DDP, hilarious Terry Funk hardcore matches, or even
the great mic exchanges between Ric Flair and Vince Russo in WCW? It's time to
jump ship, folks.

Post by Onyx Fri Apr 22, 2016 2:23 pm

I totally agree with you. Most ppl who criticize Rock ignore the
fact that he is the reason why WWF is so big now so why fix
something that isn't broken? Every time I watch Raw or Smackdown
the pop he receives is always bigger than any other so-called
"better" wrestler. Even Jericho does not have his popularity. I
think a lot of his critics just want to go against the mainstream
by trying to popularize this notion of him not being a true
wrestler. Fact is even if he wants to do technical moves a la
Benoit, Jericho, or Eddy Vince Mac would not let him do it so why
even argue?

I still haven't heard a good arguement why the Rock is NOT the best
>entertainer the WWF has ever seen. Maybe it's just a matter of opinion,
but
>if you feel concrete about The Rock not being the best ever or that he just
>plain sucks, please I just want to hear your reasons. I don't want to
start
>beef, I'm just curious.

Fine, you retard I'll give you a few reasons, I don't feel like going into
detail though

1) Fact: He's a sucky wrestler. Brawler, high flyer, technical, anything,
he's not good.
2) Fact: He's been using the same damn phrases for god knows how long... His
interviews BLOW because they are all the same.
3) Fact: He wouldn't be anything if it wasn't for his connections
(FAMILY)...
4) Fact: Overpushed. Blue Chipper sucked horrible, no heat, no talent, but
IC champ within months of debut. 5 time world champ in a year and a half
time
5) Fact: He wouldn't be the most popular right now if it wasn't for Stone
Colds absence... He was jobbing to Mr. Ass before.
6) Everything he can do others can do better... Mic Work, Scsa was arguably
just as god, Jericho as well, Foley is leaps and bounds above him, Ring
work, he's a brawler, austin was better, had many better matches.. Foley
even better brawler than him, arguably the best ever.
7) He's not a big ratings draw... Stone Cold brought the WWF back from
ratings hell because of WCW... He made the WWF popular again... Hell, even
the thought of stonecold brings ratings, the second highest WWF quarter hour
came the PPV after he showed up... it was like an 8.3... Ratings have been
slipping since then, last week Raw and Smackdown recieved a 5.3 and a 5.6
respectively.... No matter what you stupid Rock marks think the ratings
prove that Stone Cold is a much bigger draw than the Rock... When SCSA comes
back Rock will be out of the drivers seat... Good riddance as well, that
overpushed piece of shit shouldn't even be in the WWF... If anything he
should be jobbing to Gangrel on jakked.

Proud

Perhaps you're all bullshit. You know dick about the wrestling
business, and you are trying to spread your stupidity by suggesting that
the business plays out like one of its far-out storylines. IN CASE YOU
HAVEN'T NOTICED, WCW HAS BEEN SINKING SINCE AUGUST '97! You're right,
Russo did cause the WCW to fail, but not while he's been on the
payroll. He screwed WCW back when he MADE the WWF. You don't know
Vince Russo personally, so don't call him a piece of shit. It's very
easy for you to unfairly criticize because you hide like a p**** behind
your computer and blast a guy who made wrestling what it is today. If
you lived 5 lifetimes, you wouldn't have accomplished as much or worked
as hard as Vince Russo. Maybe you're the piece of shit. Russo is God!

The Rock's German suplex on Chris Benoit (RAW 07/08/00) was sloppy and
downright dangerous. The Rock should immediately be sent south to work on
his technique before his lack of skill and ability causes someone serious
injury.

This is not an opinion, it is a statement of fact.

Dat Cena prediction.

If you don't know who the Prototype is, he is a wrestler from UPW who is
very talented and very soon, he will be wrestling a dark match at a coming
RAW in Southern California, along with some other UPW wrestlers who have
been signed by the WWF. WWF has signed over 12 wrestlers from the UPW
Wrestling School.

The Prototype claims to be "half-machine, half-man:" He is perhaps the
greatest talent in a long time to come to WWF. I don't know when he will
have his first real match, but with any luck it will be soon.

It's only been a week and I tired of his shit already. The only thing he
does is cuss and stun,cuss,stun, cuss somemore,drink a beer,cuss,stun,
flip you off, stun,cuss,cuss.
That shit is wacked. Man, he needs a new gimmick. Maybe he could come
acrosss like Arn ANderson. Talk shit but In a smooth mannor.

n my opinion, the top stars in 10 years time will be (and compared to
current stars):

1. Jeff Hardy (next shawn michaels)
2. Test (next dominant big man, i.e. Undertaker or Diesel)
3. Edge
4. Christian
5. Stevie Richards
6. D-Lo Brown (next Rock)
8. Lita

In my opinion these are the wrestlers that we should one day see as world
champion in the WWF.

WRESTLERS PROBABILITY
Test 10
Shamrock(when he returns) 8
Mark Henry 7
(He's contracted to WWF til 2007 so it is likely)
Road Dogg 8
Badd A$$ 8
Edge 7.5
X-Pac 7.5
Goldust 7
Val Venis 6.5
Al Snow 6.5

Said this before but i don't disagree with the Stone Cold stuff at all Laughing

I absolutely hated his promos because the fans would constantly hijack them and it would always end in stunning every one in sight.

Always preferred The Rock by a considerable margin. Don't really care if people think i'm hipster for it either, but i don't find it a coincidence that 2000 was a much superior year than any other attitude era because they had to make it about HHH and The Rock and build up the mid card instead of everything being about Stone Cold vs Vince.
