Talks about releasing Randy Orton intensifies (mainly because his wwe.com profile is down)

Absolutely disgusting treatment. Was legit one of the most popular guys in the company, had all the tools to be a top guy. Turned shit into gold. They took him off TV because they hated the fact that he got over without their permission.
Hope the audience hijack RAW on Monday by chanting his name. Can only wish the WWE get some legit competition in the near future. The product is total garbage at the moment.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
Lack of competition clearly isn't the issue lol, their views are at an all time low. We can discuss all we want what the reasons are but the fact is they got much higher views when they HAD competition.
Besides as i explained before they do have competition because they compete in more than just the wrestling space. They compete with TV and Sports, that's just a fact of it all and quite clearly they are not doing that well in competing with them.

It's just so silly how someone with so little talent that gets rejected on a weekly basis is the top guy.

The thing with competition is it has to be another wrestling company who airs at the same time as RAW.
Only another wrestling company is capable of stealing the current WWE fanbase.
If RAW was on at the same time as another great wrestling show, people would have to choose what to watch live.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
Anyway there's no point keeping guys who you don't use.
I was a bit disappointed about Barrett because he was a main event guy at one point and they *bleep* up, but at the end of the day we have known about it for ages so i have pretty much accepted it at this point.
As for Sandow, while everything MT says is true he never was put in the same position Barrett was so i find myself not caring to the same extent. Barrett was a massive part of the show at one point until they *bleep* up.
Basically the way i feel about it is nothing of value was lost because none of them were allowed to show they could be valued for a long time now.
Hopefully they both go on to have success as they are talented guys and deserve that, the rest i don't really care about. Zeb is a legend in the wrestling business but if you don't have work for him the same goes.

They do choose though, they chose to watch HBO shows and NFL/NBA etc etc. It may not be a wrestling show but they go up against them in the same time.
You posted the other week of them getting less than 3m and that doesn't happen if people are not choosing to watch something else.

It's true, he's a victim of badly timed injuries and poor booking decisions.
In fairness to WWE if he didn't get injured at really shitty times he probably would be in a better position today.

Yeah, Barrett was a favorite to win MITB but then he got injured. Also he got hugely over again as BNB and he got injured mid-push again. They probably lost faith in him after that.
Also dafuq is up with Orton's profile lol

I never really believed the Orton thing, the only way he'd leave is if he actually asked them to and they accepted for some reason.
They wouldn't get rid of him willingly.

Good thing about being released is that it doesn't mean that's the end of their WWE career forever. Guys like Barrett and Sandow can go to other promotions, get big and then be re-signed once WWE inevitably drops the ball on a few of their current stars.

Fair enough, but what about the remaining group of WWE viewers who still watch and don't switch to NFL/NBA etc? They're most likely hardcore wrestling fans. Surely if a great wrestling show was on at the same time, they would consider watching it instead.
If NFL, HBO etc etc really meant so much, why don't the WWE's ratings drastically change? Like why don't they go from a 2.5 to a 1.5 or something? They always stay above a 2.1.
That's the group of people a new wrestling company would target. And during that process, if one or the other company decides to appeal to the casuals/mainstream audience, the viewership will once again increase. Like I said before, I'm confident during a wrestling boom it would double at the very least.
