It's starting to become clearer that Allegri really wants to play a 4-3-1-2 after failing to sign a trequartista last summer and we panicked into a last second Hernanes signing (ffs)

But from the squad standpoint I still don't get it, we go out and sign Benatia, which leaves us with 5 great central defenders: Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, Benatia and Rugani only to, possibly, change formation to a 4 man back line now, someone help me out. Mole, tom if you're out there, sports, Hans, anyone please

Tbh I sometimes get annoyed if players lie all the time about how much they love a club and would never join a rival or whatever and then they do it. And I don't know if Fabregas has ever said anything like that about Real Madrid so maybe you're right to be angry at him. But if he didn't and just joins them I don't really get the problem.

I'm not angry at all at him, I was actually questioning why in the world Madrid would want him to replace Hames. My only reason for coming at him regarding playing for rivals was pointing out he came from Barca's academy and was born in Barcelona. So given the rivalry of the two clubs and his background I would of figured that by default he would be like no thanks to that offer. But yes, as others mentioned I am aware it's a job first and foremost.

to note - I'm not a Cesc fan by any means, but it has nothing to do with this rumor. I liked him at Arsenal but after a season or 2 at Barcelona I wanted him out and haven't been a fan since. He disappears in big games and during the 2nd half of the season when it matters the most. Drives me nuts. He's also getting slower as he gets older, even though he still has great vision and what not (in other words, I'm not calling him a shit player and does have great qualities when used right)

He was late to the airport, to team dinner, and to first rehab session. So Klopp sent him home as he felt he was taking the trip more like a vacation. Laughing

I don't think it's true at all tough, the Mustafi link.

We're gonna sign Virgil Van Dijk from our feeder club next summer when we sell one of Sakho/Lovren.

Mustafi/Liverpool links seems to be Valencia's attempt to force Arsenal's hand since Arsenal have been haggling over the price. Arsenal leaked they had Toprak and Kjaer as back-up targets, Valencia responded with this. The Jose Fonte and Jose Gimenez links probably aren't a coincedence either.

All a bit unncessary considering there's desire from both clubs to get the deal done but such is an Arsenal transfer.

Valencia has Gaya, Siqueira, Salva Ruiz and Orban who all play at left back. Stupid depth of average players in one position (for the exception of Gaya)

Offering them Alberto is smart considering they might sell Paco and already got rid of Negrdo (they they still have Santi Mina and Rodrigo up front)

So there might be something to the rumor

Since his debut he was heavily linked to Real Madrid and Barca, so he's rated fairly well if those 2 were after him. He's still short (5 foot ocho) but from what I've seen is better at tracking his opponent instead of running full speed forward like a headless chicken like Moreno and Alba do. So he focuses more on his defensive duties, seems more disciplined from what I've seen of him (which is not a TON of games). I was never a fan of Bernat, not sure where the fuss about him came from.

So Gaya is still work in progress, not trying to make him sound like some world beater yet because he's not. But he can turn out to be a fine player if managed right.
