Don't have the time to post any in depth thoughts about it, but Moonlight was terrific. An incredible portrait of black masculinity and indeed masculinity in general.

All of their favourite films are always the same.

Wasn't there a Wolverine movie after the turn of the decade? If there was one then I definitely watched the 2009 one, and the one from this decade was horrendous because I could only last 20 mins of it Laughing

Yeah I think that was The Wolverine. He was in Japan or something?

I see people hating on Origins, which they rightly should, but I'm confused...because as I recall it, The Wolverine was absolutely dreadful.

The Wolverine had a lot of promise but just like origins, the last act was dreadful. One to forget really.

Wolverine was okay, it was a fun popcorn flick. Origins was just dreadful and you can't even have mindless fun watching it.

Funny how Logan and Wolverine is made by the same director but is so drastically different.

The Wolverine>>>>Origins

I really liked most of The Wolverine, until shit very pointlessly gets crazy in the last act. It felt like the director was trying (and succeeding) in making this more humane version of wolverine and then he was forced to turn it into a full on comic book flick for the ending.

The bulk of The Wolverine is a lot like Logan in terms of style and ideas, except Logan is better and turned up the tragedy to a million.

Don't have hope for Tulip Fever anyone. It's 100% shit. Has been delayed 4 times and now they're dumping it in the summer.

Baby Driver is the movie I'm most sure of.

Can't wait for Alien and The Snowman. Assbender gonna kill it this year

So rewatched the LOTR trilogy again in the past few days because we're doing the book in English Lit. iirc I said that my order is 3-1-2. I was wrong, it is 3-2-1. How can you put anything from the first movie over the battle of Helm's Deep?

The last film is just levels though. Shame on anyone putting one of the other films over it. It is edge of the seat stuff for 3 and 30 mins and then the last 30 mins it just closes off the film beautifully. One of the most satisfactory endings in literature and film history.

Did you remember to watch The extended cuts? Boromir is my favourite character which is why I love it more. Also the shire is amazing. The music is also best in the first.

It's really hard to rate them though. Best trilogy ever and it's not close. Only with another claim is Toy Story. LOTR is the most consistent.

Godfather has the best films. Star Wars is my favourite.

Samuel L jackson has defended his criticism of black British actors playing American roles, blaming it on the "system".

The 68-year-old actor said he was not trying to "slam" British actors when he criticised decisions to cast them in American roles.

"It was not a slam against them. It was just a comment about how Hollywood works in an interesting sort of way sometimes," he said.

Jackson sparked an online debate after criticising director Jordan Peele, who cast British actor Daniel Kaluuya to play an African-American photographer who is terrorised by his white girlfriend's parents in Get Out.

tbh I have to agree with sam here. if the part calls for an American actor or a british actor then cast them. why make a brit actor speak with an american accent when you can just cast an American actor. if anyone has seen Jason statham try to pull off an American accent will know what I'm saying. just let him play the part as a brit or don't give him the part ffs.

Maybe because the British actor is perfect for the character written or he nailed the audition for the role?

This is so stupid, British actors have been playing Americans for ages and vice versa and both sides have perfect performances.

are you saying America does not have a actor to play a action roll so they need Jason statham to put on an American accent. Laughing
