Personally I hate the players who don't celebrate own goals just because they have scored against his former club
Basically Quagliarella can't celebrate against half of Serie A
I consider it as a stupid habit born in 2000s years, the fair play narrative has done damages
Entirely agreed, i dislike this practice because most of the times it isn't sincere. Bonucci probably would not celebrate his first goal against Juve, but if he did, who cares honestly. He plays for Milang now. Same for Pogba, Vidal, Zaza and whoever else.
Shitty, sterilized societies nowadays, where people only behave nice and proper because of fear to offend people

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
I think its a nice gesture when it involves a strong history or a youth player who grew up in the city as for Higuain, not like he cared about Napoli's feelings when he left them to join the only team in Italy that was better, Durant style.
He didn't celebrate last season, providing them a year of mourning while he was the most hated man to set foot into Napoli in a Juve shirt for quite some time [ever?], which says a lot

San Paolo fans can be thankful to Higuain for still having respect last season.
If an entire city called me a traitor and burn down my jerseys in the streets, i would have celebrated ALL my goals with middle fingers up running around the field.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
I think it depends, case by case.
If I see Quags celebrating against us, who cares. I only like the no celebration if the player truly has deeper ties with the club. Like if Di Natale had accepted one of our bids, I would expect it and understand it that he wouldn't celebrate scoring on Udinese.
Higuain did write history with Napoli with the record, so last year's no celebration I understood.
If someone signs Florenzi, I would 100% expect him not to celebrate against Roma for example.
Now if Pjaca leaves and scores against us? no big deal. Same for Cuadrado, Khedira, Pjanic and others.

Thankfully it's only Benevento-Milang (so not worth waking up for it)...

If they lose against Benevento then Fassone & Mirabelli need to resign.
That said, i don't expect this to happen, my most recent bet includes Milan win by 2 goals or more.

They'll surely beat Benevento. I actually think Gattuso will do well and gain the knee jerk reaction that this Milan team desperately need but the season is essentially a write off unless they can pull some magic in the EL

Not possible. I expect a 3-0 Milan win. Hype train starts tomorrow and ends next December when Gattuso is fired after signing a 7 year extension for finishing seventh and making the semi final of the Europa League. It’s written in the stars that are on Juve’s shirt

Benevento is missing theirb3 best players, Ciciretti, Laazar and Iemello, classic Milan.
Gattuso's first lineup:
Donnarumma; Romagnoli, Bonucci, Musacchio; Rodriguez, Montolivo, Kessie, Borini; Bonaventura, Kalinic, Suso

Calhanoglu has looked lost in midfield, doesn't look like he can play CM at all.

Not CM. Who has the stupid idea to play him as CM?
Schmidt played him as left sided AM in a 4-4-2

Then why are you comparing him to the midfield they are playing? his spot is with the forwards: Suso and Bonaventura.
