Atleast one of Dybala or Costa should have started
Yet again he has gone for the conservative approach. Has picked Cuadrado and Mandzukic who both are coming back from injuries ahead of Dybala and Costa.
Atleast Sandro starts.

As usual when we come to Juve, the defense are shook when attacked on the counter.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
What an insane game
Fair play to Roma, they've played as good as anyone in Torino but they are sorely missing Salah's goals and presence. I thought more would come from Schick but its a small, unsatisfying sample and I can't even tell you what happened to Defrel.
What a save from Alisson on Pjanic, that was unreal.
Chiellini and Benatia combining to give Schick a 1v1 in the 92nd minute ffs. This is more of Shick bottle job then it is a Szczesny master save but I'm glad for it anyways.
As for us,
-Pjanic, fantastic game. Matuidi great game.
-Mandzukic could've had two assists.
-Higuain could've had two goals.
-We did not feed Bernardeschi at all when he got on, but we were also soaking up pressure
-Alex Sandro great game going forward and for the most part defensively. When he plays his best, he really adds another dimension
No Buffon, Douglas, Bernardeschi*, Marchisio*, Dybala...
*15 minutes a piece
Unreal

How is that Shick lad overall? the hype for him was pretty stupid before he moved.

Matuidi man of the match by a long shot (OK, maybe Szceszny comes close). What a fighter! Everywhere on the pitch today

@Firenze
He showed up with a heart condition (why he failed our medicals) and then he immediately got a knock so he hasn't played more than like 1 game. He had some small minutes apps to gain fitness and then scored against Torino in the coppa (his first start?).
Overall a non factor so far because of the injury/condition.

He's had a terrible start to his Roma career after his transfer. Albeit he's been injured for a large chunk of it, he's not looking like a 40M player and given that its Roma spending this kind of money, it hurts them just a bit more.
With that being said, I really do believe in his talent. Even today he turned a couple of our defenders way too easily but then also completely bottled a 1v1 to get Roma a point

His been injured for all of it, can't say anything yet. Deffrel is the one that seems like a terrible transfer. Even Under is ahead of him.

shame about that condition, remember reading about it being the reason Juve stayed away. Hope it won't impact his career much. And that miss Juve fans would have been utterly enraged if they dropped points because of that and rightfully so.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
Full credit to Juve, as always. Won the. midfield battle handily. Pjanic looked as good as I've ever seen him. Khedira had a good game and Matuidi really caused issues going forward as well. In contrast, Neither Nainggolan nor Strootman showed up today and that Pellegrini came on and did more than both of them is indicative of just how poor they've been over the last few games.
Our attackers were pretty well marshaled by Juve's backline, who were absolutely miserly today. Chiellini as solid as ever especially as well as Benatia. Perotti was poor, Dzeko did everything, but score and El Shaarawy had some flashes, but little else. Schick (sitter notwithstanding) and Under looked really bright and up for it.
I think our backline did a relatively good job limiting Higuain's influence and chances, but they had a torrid time dealing with Mandzukic, who I think was Juve's best attacker. Problem with our defense though is gifting Juve chances from bad passes or getting caught in possession.
Szczesny was rock solid, just as he was last season. Alisson continues on as one of my favorite players this season. Did all he could on the goal and kept us in it late on Pjanic's howitzer. All while being cool as a cucumber. Brazilian Don Draper indeed.
One mistake on a set piece (where we are rather good actually) some really poor midfield play and some awful horizontal play undid us today. No surprise that we really got at Juve when we played more vertically. Can't do that starting in the 85th minute though and expect to always get results.

I dunno, Robes....we haven't beaten a team higher than us yet this season. And you're at home to us as well. A great chance at 3 points honestly.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
Inter atm= Icardi. If he's having a bad game we lose. Perisic is a poser who comes up with a goal here and there but nothing more than avarage imo. The third goal Udine scored he ran back and stopped when the ball reached Barak. Whats the point running back if you dont press or close down? I hate players who do that. Gagliardini tends to do that also. May our star MI9 stay fit the whole season, otherwise we can even forget about the EL.
