Re: E3 2018
Microsoft will have Cyberpunk so that instantly makes it better than the rubbish EA showed today.

Unless they wow me before release I won't be getting it regardless.
Bioware's recent history doesn't exactly shower me with confidence.

Glad I napped
Called it months ago how EA would treat CL like the greatest thing ever. I mean imagine hyping a *bleep* license and asking £45 for an updated version of the game
Anthem looks shit. But then it always did look shit.

Both will be pretty good, I understand people shit on Microsoft because no exclusives etc etc but thanks to 3rd party they usually have good stuff to show imo.
It's just Nintendo and Sony usually have great exclusive stuff to show.

Don't think I'd be able to play that game without picturing that woman with the thick, German accent now. Bellends.
Also, I know RG went and googled "EA indie dark souls". Don't try to hide it

I would be surprised if that happens, but the quicker the better IMO.
Kind of expecting it to close the show tbh, considering Anthem closed their show last year.

at first I was disappointed to hear that could be the case, but I enjoy those games and I trust CDPR could make a good game from that perspective too

That's not true, it's both. CDPR said that themselves.
It's an action RPG that you play from both First person or third person perspective like Deus Ex.
Just think of it of Witcher 3 which you can play First person if you want.

I didn't know you could play The Witcher 3 in first person.
Also, what idiot would play The Witcher 3 in first person.

Re: E3 2018
You can't lol, I was basically saying what Cyberpunk is an RPG which allows you to play from both perspectives like Deus Ex.
And thought the best way to explain that was to say Witcher 3 if you could play first person and gunplay instead of melee combat, I guess not though lol.
I don't know why this is surprising though, it's a sci fi game with guns. Would be pretty dumb if you couldn't play it from both perspectives.

Re: E3 2018
Response to EA's conference were lacklustre, as expected.
I didn't watch, but r/gaming has a good breakdown - https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/8pvcna/eas_e3_conference_break_down/
My takeaways:
- Sea of Solitude looks very interesting. I'm a sucker for a compelling story.
- My shamelessness in continuing to play Destiny 2 combined with the good experience I had with Titanfall 2 means I'm probably gonna get Anthem. It's shaping up to be Destiny with Titanfall mechs and a Mass Effect-style story. The problem is none of this is unique or original so the game does look a little bland. I hope they don't repeat the mistakes that Bungie made though with Destiny and given it's EA, I'm skeptical about the lack of lootboxes and microtransactions in the gameplay.
- Respawn's upcoming Jedi-focused Star Wars game already has me intrigued. Would be great to see if they could pull off Shadow of Mordor-like gameplay and story for that one. That's another one to look out for.

Re: E3 2018
Titanfall 2 was great. I did a little research on Anthem a while ago, and I think what most people are worried about in regard to that game, is that it was/is going through serious development hell. While the rumors surrounding the extent to which the development team has struggled can't be confirmed, there's been a lot of online discussions on the topic. Supposedly, members of the development team were anonymously interviewed back in 2014 or 15, and they expressed multiple concerns regarding the development process - especially regarding the deadline they'd been given, which has later been pushed back by a few months. Even family members of the developers expressed concerns over their working conditions. If I remember correctly, they had quite a few issues working with the Frostbite engine, mainly due to the ambitious scale of the game, and the team members were being pushed to their limits even before the real issues started piling up.
More recently, EA temporarily shut down other projects, in order to bring more developers over to the Anthem project. That should've made things a bit easier, but a lot of damage had been done by that time, and it only got worse when the lead designer suddenly died last year, as well as the departure of the studio head who suddenly decided to leave the project around the same time. No one knows what the final product will actually be like until the game is out, but from what I've read, it's been going through a Final Fantasy XV- level problematic development process, and that's a massive, red flag regardless of how pretty their trailers look. It's also been confirmed that Anthem will prolong it's activity through story DLC that will be released over several years, and that's a no for me... unless, the game turns out to be Witcher 3- level good.

Re: E3 2018
Yeah, this is how we get incomplete games which then have to get completed via DLCs. I think we'll know rather quickly just how Anthem is before it comes out.

It's intriguing I agree but sadly it's hard for me to get excited about something on the back of some words from the developer.
I would say the indie stuff were the most interesting stuff all in all.
