S trying to stir up drama when he's coached by the Italian Mourinho himself and plays the same way in big games, sit down jabroni.

I agree only a certain type of player will enjoy working under Mourinho.

Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Switzerland right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer when the 34-year-old’s Juventus contract expires this summer. Lichtsteiner a long-term target who #AFC see adding experience/leadership to head coach Unai Emery’s squad #Juve #SUI

This is actually happening. I like it. Needed someone to slap Bellerin.

yeah I remember him telling a story on BT Sports football show before how we were winning 3-0 and he decided to dribble like he was Ryan Giggs in the final minutes past 3 players and lost the ball
then in the backroom after the match when the players were celebrating Ferguson stormed in and started going mad at Ince telling him he isn't a Cantona type, his job is to get the ball and give it to other players and they didn't speak for two weeks after that and he never tried to be a flair type player again

He's 34 years old. You aren't signing a Dani Alves here where it feels like a marquee signing even if they're past their best. It's Stephan *bleep* Lichtsteiner. What on earth are they doing over there ffs.

Its called squad building. Free depth signing that adds leadership to the locker room. Something your team knows nothing about.

People really need to stop throwing around the term 'leadership' so liberally.
It seems all you need to qualify for a leadership role in football is to be in your 30's in some fans eyes.
Arsenal aren't a Serie A team, they don't need to adhere to your standards when it comes to being frugal.
Sorry, IMO this is a shite signing. One you would be laughing at them making if he weren't a Juve veteran.

Eh ? He's captain of Switzerland national team too. I'm not using the term loosely. He was a warrior on the pitch for us in his prime. The guy simply happens to have a strong personality and is a c*nt too. Watching dab hoe's and 500K a week jabroni's casually walking around and stinking up the pitch for you, i'm sure you miss those Roy Keane kinda personalities that would've slapped the lips of their faces if they dint give their 100%.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2018/19
Thiago Alcantara has suggested his future at Bayern Munich is uncertain, although he insists he is focused on the World Cup for now.
The 27-year-old midfielder signed a new four-year contract in April last year but has been linked with a possible return to Barcelona in recent weeks.
Bayern great Lothar Matthaus slammed the player's performances in key matches after that 3-1 loss in Berlin and said the club should consider selling him in the transfer window.
Thiago is ignoring speculation while he prepares for Spain's World Cup campaign but has admitted his future at the Allianz Arena is far from guaranteed.
When pressed on whether he would stay, he told Mundo Deportivo: "Let's see. I told you I renewed with Bayern last year, but it's very complicated. Football is very difficult...
"I'm very much about enjoying the moment. You don't have to focus on the future. Now, I'm thinking about the World Cup, I'm living in the present and if a moment comes for you to think about it, I immediately focus on the World Cup."

Thomas Tuchel has decided that all of PSG's full-backs are not good enough: Meunier, Alves, Berchiche & Kurzawa, according to Le Parisien.

Lichtsteiner needs be given respect.
I have witnessed countless masterclass games by Lichtsteiner in CL, as recent as last season if I'm not mistaken.
Vs Real in 2015 semis, my god what a performance.
Even this season, was subbed in vs Tottenham and changed the game, no?
Dortmund were rumoured to be signing him, who have had a fullback problem for years now, but they've decided against it apparently.
For Arsenal, it's a very good move.

I don't like Licht. Never have and probably never will, but he's a fine full-back. Will probably come good for Arsenal.

I mean, at least Arsenal is signing proper fullbacks with european'eritage while Manchester United is converting 37 year old MELTS of former wingers into fullbacks who couldn't cope with Mercado and Escudero at home ffs

There's barely anyone on that team below 25 years old, it's like people are living in the past where Arsenal had loads of kids in the lineup.
That isn't their issue anymore and hasn't been for a long time.

playing full back is a young mans game these days. they need that speed and stamina.McLewis wrote:I dunno 32-year old Kolarov ended up being our best signing last summer. Older fullbacks can be really effective if they take care of their bodies and are playing with the right clubs.
