It's pretty obvious they are incapable of creating passing angles under any sort of pressure not to mention the embarrassment that is the Argentina defence.

France are even worse at using possession to create chances

I get that but early on at least they were pressing the ball and closing down.

For some reason they stopped and if by magic Argentina started creating plays which get them near the box if not out right chances.

What a hit by Di Maria.

France with some great counter-attacks, but their other attacking play has been poor.

Can't believe Argentina left all their strikers on the bench, they have nothing going on in the box.

It's not like Messi's actually playing like a false 9 either, he's been stuck on the wing and barely seen the ball.

They need a striker on to actually occupy the box.

Fully exposed now, no midfield, aging players gave their all. Enzo Perez off meaning they have one less person fighting for the ball and what a big difference it shows.

Agreed. Enough of finished Di Maria and inexperienced or mediocre players such Meza & Pavon. They can't handle such pressure. Sampaoli needs to find a way to accomodate both Messi and Dybi

Is "finished" Di Maria doing an okay job of not being a liability for GOAT Messi? hmm

Argentina could've actually had this if they started with a striker.

Credit to Argentina for making this game a lot closer than it should've been. France is just way better, I don't think Argentina could've won no matter how Samp set up.

My god what an incompetent manager Deschamps is! A half decent one would've steamrolled this pathetic Argentina team with insane ease.

The same can also be applied to Argentina. I chose them as the dark horse of this competition because I knew they could cause an upset if they were coached properly.

This game has just exposed Deschamps and Sampaoli for the frauds they really are.
