Why are most of Real Madrid's CLs not memorable?

Post by Great Leader Sprucenuce on Wed Aug 15, 2018 2:18 pm

The last 3 CLs literally nobody talks about, Pep's Barca is still talked about more despite never retaining it and hell Bayern's 1 CL in that time under Heynckes is still talked about more.

Their 5 CLs in the 50s and the one in the 60s literally nobody cares about, nobody outside of Spain talks about Di Stefano and if Puskas didn't have an award named after him he would be lost to history also. They were all outshined by the likes of Eusebio who to this day people remember more than anything that Madrid team did.

Literally the only one which is memorable was the one Zidane won with that ridiculous volley, it's really sad that 12 of their 13 CLs mean nothing in a sport which supposedly only remembers the winners.

Well we are Real Madrid. when you are good at something, doing it over and over creates less reaction.

Now imagine if Liverpool won it last year.....

Easy fixtures, referee blunders, fluke wins and shitty football.

What Mamad said. When you've won it as many times as us. The reactions becomes more like "here we go again, how many is it now" than "wow, did you see how they won" if you ask who the kings of Europe are, nobody will say Barca or Bayern.

Wait... La Decima wasn’t memorable?

The one against Liverpool certainly is memorable for Klopp.

The second win over Atlético is the only of the last four that isn’t memorable.

And in the next thread moal will say that he isn't a closet Farca fan.

And Barca fans will say that they do not care, but they are dying on the inside. Laughing

And how could you say they are not memorable considering you came up with this pathetic topic? rofl

Because the first five were pointless, when there was no competition, and the last four were fake with official and referees gifting the titles. Uefadrid has one good CL.

Probably Madrid fans tbh, they clearly have a large fan base. All I know is he's talked about way more outside of Spain. Where as nobody outside of Spain cares about Di Stefano.

Hell the mere fact Ronaldo is considered better should tell you all you need to know about him tbh.

Also to those speaking about La Decima, that maybe memorable to Madrid fans but nobody else cares about it. As I said Barca and Bayern CLs are talked about way more.

At the end of the day does it matter if you, Mole, personally remember the finals?

Of course the first 5 wins in a row aren't going to be remembered intimately. there wasn't a single forum member alive to watch it. People still talk about Di Stefano and Puskas as some of the best players of all time though. Does anyone talk about the Inter-Benfica final of 65' no.

And CL finals aren't always as memorable, but people will remember RM won 13 while the everyone else is 6+ CL titles behind.

Just to humor you though, I'll list the CL finals I find memorable:

RM-Leverkusen(2002) Zidane's wonder goal, Porto-Monaco (2004) underdog journey, Liverpool-Milan (2005) 3-3 comeback thriller, United-Chelsea (2008) Terry slip, Inter-Bayern (2010) treble, RM-Atletico (14) La Decima-last minute tying goal by Ramos, RM-Liverpool (18) Bale bicycle goal arguably topping Ronaldo's more technically proficient, but less important bicycle goal.

It makes less impression who are used to seeing as winning teams.
Last year was an unexpected victory for months too, almost a boring CL.
Anyway the Cardiff final (2017) was a memorable victory definitely.
One of greatest performances ever in a final.
Inusual to watch a team winning for 1-4 in a final ... And especially we can't forget that many rated Juve as favorite before of final  or at least, many believed in  a balanced final.
Still impressed, and grateful

Regardless of whether or not you believe they're memorable; I would still choose those "unmemorable" 13 CLs and be the undisputed king of Europe over anything else. Thank you.

Thread has a valid point, this is also true though. I mean, Bayol just scored an utterly ridiculous goal in the CL final. One of the most memorable. Seems forgotten already.

I'd say the recent wins being less memorable is because of the lack of a legit rival, maybe? there hasn't really been a standout team in Europe besides, maybe Atleti? purely in the actual european comps.

the campaigns themselves haven't been all that memorable. When Barca were on top, the football just seemed to be at a higher level tbh across the board. Not gonna speak about their ancient CL titles, way before my time.

This is such a petty thread by Mole, hurt that I was criticizing his favorite barca player. Have you come out of the closet yet, pretending to support Newcastle every weekend but tuning up to every barca game, even preseason in China.

This is like asking if people still care about Nadal winning Rolland Garros every summer. You look at Golden State today, 0 conversation about how great they are lol. When you win too much this is what happens, it's boring and people want to talk about something else.

Imagine scrubs discounting actual trophies because they were won 60 years agoare you daft? Even if you want to discount them we still have more CLs than every body so please y'all can collectively shut up lol

Less to say that the most memorable thing about Barca's CL is a non player factor called Tom Henning Øvrebø

Agree

I'd say the 16-17 campaign was your best CL campaign in recent times.

Not sure why you say this. When another team wins the CL the next question is going to be "but can they win it again like Madrid".

So you may think no one is talking about the 3 CLs, just give it time because every other team is going to try to do what this team did for many years to come.

Took me until club logos became a thing on here for anyone to think Mole was anything other than a Barca fan. He’s always been more a Barca than Newcastle fan. He just wanted to seem cool by “supporting” a shit team
