When Mariano came on the fans cheered really loudly. Our new galactico takes the no7 shirt and comes up with that shot followed by that celebration ffs this guy will have it in his head that he'll win Balon d'or next season lmao

Also Bale continuing his fantastic start to the season. He might not have been very good infront of goal like at Bilbao but still went out with a goal/assist.

When games become too easy for Ramos he plays in midfield and tries to cut out attacks from there

Navas also, fills you with confidence. Always releases the ball quickly after he gets it. Courtois needs to work on that, he doesn't play in EPL anymore

For the life of me, I can’t understand the constant criticism of Ramos, especially after last night. Do you realize that Roma only had FOUR shots on net?

And is it only me that feels we are much more of a team now without Ronaldo. It seems we switch sides regularly, almost everone is taking shots so opponents have no idea where and when shots will come from. Much more exciting to watch. Sure shot taking can improve especially from Kroos, but the chances are there, even in the Bilbao game.

I look thru our squad and I see 19 deserving of regular playing time. Hoping Vinicius gets time soon and I’m quessing that he will become a regular by January. Also we should soon give Carvajal a rest and give Odriozola a chance to impress. They keep this up and you will no longer be able to say we don’t have bench strength. We began season saying we had to much reliance on Benzema and Bale, but already we have seen we can count on Mariano, Asensio and Isco to replace them when needed and hopefully soon, we can add Vinicius to that list.

That then leaves only Vallejo, Reguilion, Llorente and Valverde! They likely have to wait for Copa games.

I don’t disagree Deez. Reality is that we have 4 starting midfielders with some rotation and Ceballos being the first backup. That’s leaves almost no room for Llorente and Valverde. Given the lack of confidence in Llorente, I’m actually surprised, he wasn’t lent or sold. With Fede, I’m still surprised they added him to squad. Would have been better for everyone if they lent him out for another season.

With Reguilion and Vallejo, I would think they will get action eventually, but both are behind Nacho to come off bench. They will likely start getting action with copa games. Interesting for most games, Lopetequi has only had 5 defenders, leaving only Nacho on Bench! We know he can cover all 4 positions, but he’s taking a risk with that approach.

But I started this by raving about the other 19. I liked the options we have without Benz or Bale. It looked good with Isco, Asensio with Bale and with just as good with Isco, Asensio and Mariano. Hopefully soon they add Vinicius to the options as well. Not to say anything bad about Benzema or Bale as for the most part they have played well this year, but it is good, and wise to have multiple attacking options. And like I said above, it’s much more of a team without Ronaldo, so these options make us much more difficult to defend against.

That had nothing to do with Ramos though, I dare say, that was in spite of Ramos' inability to be a normal God damn defender.

If it weren't for Varane being awesome and Casemiro being great at intercepting and tackling, Ramos would have had way more criticism to deal with.
