Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
My man Romano.
When was the last time we had 2 new CBs going into the season? never?
Midfield does look weak but hopefully we are sorting that too

Ornstein : [on Partey] If Atleti demand clause, €50m must be paid in full plus tax and heard salary request is above £200kpw. So might not be quick + suspect Arsenal will look to move players out first. But think he remains #AFC’s top target.
This seems eye-wateringly expensive for a player who's good but not amazing.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I guess it‘s the price a EL level team has to pay for a CL level player. We have money but currently not the prestige to sign CL level players, the only motivation can mostly be money.

He's leaving Bayern but I'm 90% certain he's joining Liverpool.

he's acting as if his ass is on some Thiago Alcantara level with that asking price though
First come earn your worth at the club in a different country with different style of football before you demand that

till now under FSG I dont remember anyone that we have signed a 29 year old player for even more than 5 million we have very strict policy. But the interest is genuine, Liverpool will try every bit to save even last 100k to make sure that it fits Liverpool's accounts.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I heard you guys could be losing Wijnaldum so you would need a new starter there. Thiago is used to the football Kloop likes to play, fits any of the midfield roles and brings a wealth of experience with him. It's a no brainer tbh. Forget his age.

Agreements still need to be finalised on fee and personal terms but Wolves are closing in on the signing of Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal and it’s on course to be completed this week. It's sad seeing academy players leave, and he was a useful utility player, but if he fetches £20m+ it's a good move.

RMC Sports and Mohamed Bouhafsi: PSG are interested in signing Bellerin.
Love Heccy but he's been very average for a good while now. If the money's really good I'd cash in. Sign another right back for ~20m or something.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Our RB options are absolutely rubbish tbh, I wouldn't selling them all if it were possible
Actually like AMN the most, but he's the closest to leave...
But it's definitely prime time to sell Bellerin. He still has a reputation despite not really having much to show for it. A year from now and offers like that won't come no more.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Though I don't want to see a useful, reliable guy like Niles leave, it is logical in the sense that we need to sell to buy and he's someone that we can afford to lose, while leaving is truly what's best for his career and keeping him longer will just see his value deteriorate. It's also proving difficult to offload our worse players who are clearly transfer listed, so we have to shift some bodies soon. Hopefully we can get over 20M for him at least; I know it's a tough year for many teams but we always sell our players too cheaply.
That said, if we now go out and then sell Bellerin as well, that would make little sense to me. We aren't even being linked with RBs so I think that rumour is probably nonsense, but even if it is legit and we are trying to sell him, think about it: we just had a really poor year, many teams are struggling financially and he's been injured for most of the year so there are question marks. We'd probably get a better fee if we waited a year tbh, if we are going to sell him, unless PSG specifically comes in and puts up so much money that we can easily find a replacement. But even then, there's the fact that we're rumoured to be trying to sell Kolasinac and Chambers too...who's going to play fullback exactly if we just keep trying to sell all of ours? Mustafi?

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
im sure we'll have our plans in order by having replacements in place before we sell.
but yea, historically we always have been a bad club at getting really good value for our outgoing players. It's a real shame.

Also my opinion but looks like AMN already set his mind to leave and play in the midfield somewhere else.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
The midfield optuons that we currently have are
Xhaka
Torriera (Open to leave)
Willock (Too young to have a permanent Starting spot)
AMN (About to leave)
Elneny (Shouldn't start given his previous record)
Ozil ( F***ed)
Guendouzi ( Earning too much money)
ESR ( same as Willock)
Bar Xhaka we dont have any midfielder who I would preferentially start against liverpool. If we sign someone he wont be available for start od the season because of the quarantine rules in UK. Dont know what the plan is.....

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
The problem is that we really need to sell to buy and until we can convince other clubs to pay up for our players, we won’t have the funds to buy a functioning midfield. I expect us to eventually get Partey and Ceballos, but whether we can do more than that is dependent on if we can shift everyone we’re trying to, or just some of them.

Wolves made formal offer (below £20m) for Ainsley Maitland-Niles yesterday. Rejected by Arsenal as they seek higher fee for versatile 22yo. Among other interested clubs, 2 in Germany understood to be preparing bids. Background for @TheAthleticUK #WWFC #AFC https://t.co/CxhbX2McWn
