Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Not news that old classic Werdum is suffering from ring rust but is well past it clearly then again he is 42. Cannot keep up with the tempo of the fight.

I find Ngannou and his fights painfully boring but on that reminder now I have a good reason to look forward to that.

Debatable decision but can understand why it was scored for him. Werdum always looked to have the advantage but never followed through.
Great fight either way.

Super curious to see how it goes this time between them compared to the first one way back then.
Cowboy is much more complete this time though.
Both terribly inconsistent as of late, either way.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
werdum looked every bit the fat, 2 years since he last fought 42 yr old he is
absurdly slow, nothing left to offer MMA, but keep cashing those paydays
feels weird without the crowd (again) even if the MMA crowds are generally awful

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Convinced after this I prefer no crowds given how bad UFC crowds have been shown to be, in general.
Cowboy notably improved but Pettis looking sharper and should end up taking this.
I feel it is obvious the slow starter in Cowboy is not used to spacing himself out in three rounds rather than his five in which is more advantageous for the well conditioned Cerrone.

What a brilliant fight.
Cowboy's fights are always beautiful. As predicted he will show better navigation of himself as the rounds climb. Round 3 most definitely his.
He should take this but then again knowing the judges it won't be given.

If Pettis wins it’ll be because of an eye poke

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
How the fuck was that even given to Pettis.
Besides some good counters Cerrone had more takedowns compared to 0 for Pettis and easily took Round 3 and arguably the second one.
Its getting predictable how judges score and obvious why given they never were fighters and judge more on who looks damaged.

Cowboy looked most hurt because of an eye poke. If the ref had seen it Cowboy would’ve been the unanimous winner I’d reckon. Haven’t seen the exact score cards yet though.
Hope the next fighters don’t leave it to the judges because they’ve been terrible all night.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
I generally am averse to criticising judges given I am used to their frequently questionable decisions but call it a cognitive illusion but they have been worse than ever.
I cannot believe that eye poke was not seen and by the end Cowboy mostly dominated a rather hesitant Pettis.
Shameful decision.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
The contrast of skill and entertainment from the last fight to this has had me rather quiet. Greg Hardy win aside is a total bum, relatively speaking as a fighter.

Well he’s basically pure athletic ability and nothing else.
Hopefully we’ll get some finishes soon. Too many decisions

Agreed. Most definitely a natural-born athlete.
Indeed it has been odd the lack of finishes but should expect one in the Ngannou fight at least.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Well there is the finish that was asked for.
Did not expect that from Kattar as I did see Stephens taking this fight though of course biased due to his lighting start.
Brilliant finish.
