Imagine starting that sloth and snubbing such potential, Koeman was cancer.

I like Nico too. Kinda surprised he didnt play more before, I need to see more from him but so far he seems way more athletic than other mids we have and actually quite good.

Not Sergi's fault but that was unimpressive as ever.

This team has no ideas in the attacking third, its all improvisation and based on what each individual may do. One man has the ball, the nearest target makes a movement and everyone else stands and watches. There is no coordination, no solutions to open up spaces and no combination play. It all ends in the ball out wide and a random hopeless cross.

Only way we can score is set peices, cross and transitional plays. This team badly needs coaching.

I did appricate the efforts to high press, it was fully committed with Fati jumping up to CB and ultimately worked decently well.

But yeah, we aren't getting past Benfica like this.

Agreed on lacking ideas in the final third. Not a fan of the endless crossing either. Especially when we have poor headers of the ball.
Don't have high hopes Sergi will work on attacking combinations.

This team invents new ways to embarrass themselves and all of us. It's really sickening to watch.

No point discussing the collective issues. The fact Celta had more of the ball, totally dominated the 2nd half and we had no ideas of how to escape pressure really says it all.

Individually, Lenglet not good. Got his line wrong enough for me to notice and was never convincing. Mingueza defensively poor and I don't expect that. Puig comes on, is a defensive turnstile if we aren't pressing high up the pitch and loses balls taking 4 touches to do something even Nico can do in 2.

I count 9 injuries, Aguero, Dembele, Fati Braithwaite, Pedri, Nico, Dest, Garcia and Pique. I can't be convinced something isn't right there.

Ansu with the torn hamstring, we will be lucky if it's a month out at a minimum. I really don't want to finish 3rd in CL group, either quality and all the way out in 4th place.

First game. So not much to read into it. Will have to wait a few games to see a clear pattern of play. FDJ back to making off the ball runs from midfield, runs he made last season which made him such a dangerous player.
Nico also making similar runs. Speaking of, that control in the box from an over the top Busquets pass was something else. Iniesta like first touch. Kid is not far behind Pedri/Gavi if at all.
On Gavi, another good game but for his sake, needs to hit the bench. We dont want another Pedri situation. At the max, should play 90 mins in 2 weeks. Not more than that.

He was poor. Only 17 though, not many players are ready at this age, Pedri, Gavi and Ansu are freaks of nature in that regard.

Ez Abde was much better. Very impressive but he's 19 so 2 years in this age range makes a huge difference.

Both Gavi and Pedri are great at recovering the ball and defensive duties in general. Very refreshing because I werent used to CM/CAM la masia graduates being good in that department
