Welp, out of the CL. Wonder if Xavi has second thoughts about joining already.

Should've let Koeman take the fall for this season and then start anew over the summer.

What will change next season? I assume we'll offload a couple of players, Dest,Coutinho certainly and maybe Dembele and FDJ as well if he keeps playing like that. Ter Stegen has been poor too. But who will we buy and with what money? this will take a lot more time

Next year things will improve as we will not have the lockdown beating down our revenues as much, allowing us to actually sign quality players and register them.

I'd be really shocked by the Dest rumours if they are true, I doubt though. Fact that Xavi started him for this game shows he believe in him surely? I dont think Xavi is that dumb he thinks any of our other players would be better at RB? Who? Mingueza? Roberto? XD

What's going on with Fati? It looks like the club is covering up his injuries like we did with Hazard for 2/3 seasons. He is now projected to come back in January. I reckon the fans deserve to know if he's had a relapse

Yeah but we still conceded some avoidable goals like the traditional Busquets turnover because he's taking too much time to release the ball. I'm satisfied overall, because Pedri and Gavi were great. I forgot how good Pedri is while he was out. They're both different but amazing at the same time.

We're lacking in the defensive department. As far as the summer window goes, I realized we should forgo chasing the Haalands of this world for the time being and focus on the other end.

Xavi was right to demand the signing of Kounde from the outset. Im not sure if Gaya is the rick pick for LB. Boubacar Kamara will be a free agent in june, interesting choice for DM imo although i'm not sure how he's performing these days.

Invest heavily in defense, because for every goal you concede you have to score 2 and we keep conceding like theres no tomorrow. I'm sure that if we can strenghten the defence over the summer then we'll challenge for the title.

Offensive output was minimal but Alba and Pique are mostly to blame for this loss. Horrible and even comical errors at times

He needs to sack his old mates but I haven't seen anything special from him either.

Physically the team looks as bad as ever. How can a team that played a final 3 days ago outplay you in every physical department whether it is stamina or strength. Maybe it is just a mentality thing. I don't know. But this has been an issue for Barcelona for years. What's worse is that you're getting lots of injuries lately too. Something is definitely not right but I can't put my finger on it.

Tactically also there has been little to no improvement. The defence looks badly organised, both on set pieces and in open play. Attacking play comes from flashes of individual play not tactical instructions. How many times do Barcelona break through the pressing just to have no idea of what to do next and allow the other team to reorganise. Just pass back, pass back, try to hold the ball with no aim until you lose it.

Completely agreed, yet another reason I think hiring him in the summer after a clean up would've made more sense.

I would rather play Nico instead of Frenkie but Xavi is fixated on the dutchman, hopefully the goal last time around helps him with gaining confidence. Gavi off the bench/

dembele and adama keeping the full-backs busy may finally give us some breathing space.

Happy with the win. You can see the shift in mentality. I think we would have crumbled at 4-2 with a red card had it been Koeman.

There's a better mental strength now.

Xavi will definitely not be happy with the defence though. All their attacks looked lethal which is disturbing. And it has been a pattern since some time. Years of minimal coaching will do that I guess.

While we do need personnel in that department, defending especially in this era is a team effort and hence it'll take longer to get right.

Happy with Adama's output but I don't expect him to be this lethal for too long. Once these players are figured out by opposition defenders, they often are blunted. Hoping that's not the case, but I feel it could be.

Auba had a quiet game, but he'll take some time to get in the groove given his lack of game time recently.

FDJ, Pedri, Gavi... all putting in good shifts.

Xavi must be fuming at Alves though. He was brought mostly for his seniority and attitude and then he goes and does that lol.
