I think he is just under being a called a world class CB. He definitely has world class potential though.

He would have been very close to become "world Class" if hadnt got injured last season. He is getting there though.

I can understand where the Arsenal Fans are coming from..Perhaps he doesnt get enough recognition as other high-profile defenders do..And too an extent its got to do with lack of quality CB partners..

But defense so much more about team ethic isnt it..One man in defense cannot save your team's asses..

Chiellini is a world class defender but the reason we were so bad is because of an inconsistent CB who flattered to decieve really and ofcourse are achilles heel for a quite a few years now i.e lack of quality fullbacks..

Chiellini is sometimes scrutinized heavily for that matter..

I didn't see Lucio anywhere last season, Ferdinand ? The same Ferdinand from last season ? Really? and yes Lucio is so good in your opinion you had to put him in there twice.

what the frak is your definition of world class, and why are we all capitalizing the w and the c in world class ? If your definition is a player that can walk into any XI in the world....you wouldn't have named 10 defenders. If it isn't , then your definition must be a really good defender which Vermaelen is.
