He's also having a boss current season. If he can stay fit all season he'll make a name for himself, I'm sure.

This thought came to my mind as well, however as much as I love Agger I consider his injuries too big a restraint as it really prevents him from proving his consistency over a pair of seasons against the best opposition. Silva for instance had a magnificent season last year, however before I consider him to be entrenched in the top echelon of centre-backs in the world I require that he provides notable performances in the latter stages of the Champions League, until then I tend to separate form from his overall class. In that sense Vermaelen's excellent however he's not within reaching distance of the top tier of centre-backs.

Also I think RG's public advertisement of his emasculation is kind of sweet.

I highly disagree with this Nish.

This is the main problem we are having with the hoofing that the ones that do lob the ball to carroll, completely underestimate his ability to play with his feet.

I'm guessing they get the idea through either his insane aerial threat, or that big,tall and typical 9s can't do much with their feet whereas time and time again it has been proven how much skill Carroll does have in his feet.

Last example? Sunderland game comes to mind.
