San Lorenzo are somewhat blocking Pizzi from leaving them Laughing, hearing that Bielsa might end up being 2nd choice for Valencia.

Valencia Thread - Page 15 Empty Re: Valencia Thread

Post by BarrileteCosmico Wed Dec 18, 2013 8:14 am

Reuters wrote:(Reuters) - Valencia have sacked coach Miroslav Djukic after their erratic form this season left them in danger of missing out on a place in European competition next term.

A former Serbia coach, Djukic was hired in June to replace Ernesto Valverde but his side are mired down in ninth in La Liga with just under half the season played and Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid appears to have been the last straw for the Valencia board.

"The reason for today's news conference is to announce in the name of Valencia and the board of directors, and this is a day that personally I would have preferred never to see arrive, the dismissal of Miroslav Djukic as first team coach," president Amadeo Salvo told a news conference on Monday.

Sporting director Francisco Joaquin Perez Rufete said the club were seeking a replacement and B team coach Nico Estevez would take charge in the meantime.

A former Yugoslavia centre back, Djukic spent six seasons at Valencia as a player and had stints at Deportivo La Coruna and Tenerife.

As a coach, he helped Real Valladolid win promotion back to the Spanish top flight in the 2011-12 season and after they finished in 14th place last term he announced he was moving on.

He is well known in Spain for missing a penalty late in Depor's final match of the 1993-94 season against Valencia which handed the title to Barcelona.

"As is normal for a professional I don't agree with the board's decision but I respect it," Djukic told Monday's news conference.

"I wish them all the possible luck and urge unity so the club can move forward," the 47-year-old added.

Valencia are through to the last 32 of the Europa League, Europe's second-tier club competition, where they will play Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev.

Ayala will take over as Sporting Director and they are looking for new coaches. Top of the list is San Lorenzo's coach, Pizzi, who won the Argentine Inicial a few days ago; however, Pizzi wants to play the Copa Libertadores and will not leave halfway through the season. The next contenders are Rubi, Victor Fernandez and Bielsa.

He's only unemployed because he asks for 4.5m per year and figures someone will eventually pay up. Agreed that Ayala is a huge Bielsa fanboy, but I doubt Valencia have that kind of money.

From what I've seen he's been pretty OK. Not too good but not too bad either. Won't be starting for Chelsea, at this point, but with Djukic gone he might change his performance.

Bielsa has gone to Bilbao already. He's got 1/2 a season to set this Valencia in his image. I thin the possiblity of Bielsa arriving is good.

Though honestly I'd prefer someone like Aguirre for this Valencia.

According to ElConfidencial, a Chinese billionaire named Peter Lim COULD become the majority shareholder of the club. He is worth about 1.6 billion dollar.

He tried to the same with Atletico, didnt pan out, and he is returning for Valencia. He was brought there by Jorge Mendes and Peter Kenyon.

Looks like Peter Lim (Valencia's potential buyer atm) has until the 15th Of January to decide whether to buy the club or not. Also, it looks like Valencia are willing to spend 30-40 Million Euros this Winter Transfer Market.

Amadeo Salvo, Valencia President, confirmed that Singaporean investor Peter Lim has made an offer to buy the shares of Fundación VCF, with which he would become the majority shareholder of Valencia, holding 70% of the club. According to Salvo, Lim has made an “almighty” offer. Lim, the son of a fishmonger, became a successful stokebroker before becoming a full-time investor on his own account. He is reckoned to be worth just over a billion euros and is keen sports fan.

According to Salvo, Peter Lim has agreed to pay off the debts owed to Spanish bank Bankia by both the club itself and Fundación VCF (220 and 81 million euros respectively) and committed to “putting together a competitive team to fight for titles in Spain and Europe”. As a first step he would put in 30 to 40 million euros to be spent in the January transfer market to allow Valencia to fight for a Champions League spot, as well as maintaining their current Europa League campaign.

Amadeo Salvo didn’t confirm the exact amount Lim is considering paying, but said it would be one of the biggest football club acquisitions ever. The Valencia president repeated what had been said in the shareholders meeting, that Valencia wouldn’t be sold for less than “250 million euros”.

The offer is apparently open up to 15 January, with Lim asking Bankia to give an answer prior to this date. The bank said last week that they would need four to six weeks to study the different offers they might receive. Lim wants an answer before 15 January because he wants to be able to buy in the winter transfer market.

President Salvo said that Lim is committed to maintaining the current set-up, with Salvo remaining as President, along with other employees and executives. “Peter Lim would be coming on board with the idea of maintaining the history of the club, which would continue to be managed by Valencia fans”.

The intention of Lim would be to finish the new stadium, though it wouldn’t be a priority, according to Salvo. Whilst Lim could pay for the new stadium there may be other options. Salvo said that an offer arrived recently from a multinational company that would be willing to pay 130 million euros to finish the stadium, in return for the rights to run the stadium subsequently.
