"The Giallorossi players trained indoors today, starting at 14:00, because of the snowfall that fell on Friday night and covered the pitches at the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini in Trigoria.
After welcoming the latest recruit Marquinho, all the players – with the exception of Burdisso (who is continuing his rehabilitation with physiotherapy) – assembled in the gym for today's session under the orders of the coaching staff. Osvaldo carried on with his rehabilitation work following injury. The training session ended at around 15:30.
The list of players in the squad for the match against Inter will be announced, as usual, tomorrow morning."

"This morning was a busy one for Luis Enrique and the team. They landed around 10:30 this morning in Fiumicino on a direct flight from Catania. The players and the technical staff headed straight for the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini where they trained.
The coach divided the squad into two groups: those who played in last night's match had a soft training session (on the pitch or in the gym), while the others, after warming up, worked on ball-possession and played a training match.
Viviani limped off after taking a blow to his right leg, while Gago received a massage from the physiotherapist after straining his right thigh.
They'll be back on the pitch tomorrow...at 14:00, this time."

"The players met this afternoon at 14:00 at the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini for today's work session ahead of Monday's match against Sannino's Siena.
Training took place under heavy rain and began with the usual initial warm-up, before athletic work and technique. Luis Enrique split the group into two teams for the classic match on a reduced pitch.
Gago had a personalised training session, while De Rossi, Viviani and Burdisso underwent a physiotherapy session."

2/16/12

First-team training took place at the unusual time of 11:00 this morning at the Bernardini training ground in Trigoria, under the guidance of Luis Enrique and his technical staff.
After warming up the team did some ball-possession drills before moving onto a long series of tactical exercises, with the players divided into groups according to their role. The session ended with a practice match on a small pitch.
Juan trained separately while Burdisso continued with his physiotherapy programme.
José Angel and Pjanic withdrew early: the defender after picking up a knock to his left leg, the midfielder because of a blister on his right foot.
Tomorrow's training session will be at the usual time of 14:00.

Totti & Co. were put through a two-hour workout in the sun at the Centro Sportivo Bernardini in Trigoria today – a session that saw Brazilian defender Juan back in full training with the rest of the group.
The players started with an athletic warm-up routine before moving on to some one-touch keep-ball and a long series of detailed tactical drills, working in different groups. The Giallorossi rounded off the day with a practice match on a small pitch.
The whole squad trained together with the exception of Nico Burdisso, who went on with his physiotherapy programme.
Tomorrow's training session has been moved to the morning at 11:00.

On Friday 24 February at the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini there will be ceremony to name the new pitch A after Agostino Di Bartolomei, the never to be forgotten champion and captain of Roma who died prematurely on 30 May 1994. The pitch was created with a synthetic grass surface by Mondo, a leading Italian company in playing surfaces for sports.

Despite Luis Enrique giving the boys the day off, Marquinho, Greco and Simplicio still trained on the pitch today, while Gago, Pjanic, Heinze and Burdisso trained in the gym and did some physiotherapy work.

Erik Lamela has run the fastest 1000 meter race at 2:57, in second place was Nicolas Lopez at 3:21 and the rest were further behind.

Ehh that group Lamela's in isn't exactly quick. Probably would've put him in Group 1 and Jose Angel in Group 2 just to make it more interesting.

I'm perfectly fine with some of these guys not being particularly pacy, they have plenty of other attributes and for the record, Jose Angel is quite pacy actually.

What difference do the groups make? I thought it was pretty irrelevant. Anyways he has a good 24 seconds over the 2nd place which is pretty impressive, although I don't find the records all that impressive. Sprinting speed doesn't necessarily translate to speed with the ball, as well.

Live From Trigoria - Page 2 Empty Re: Live From Trigoria

Post by ErPupone Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:25 pm

Dodo' and Bradley trained regularly with the rest of the group today, while Pjanic is still training separately.

Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Marquinhos may get a chance to make his first start against Atalanta, as Burdisso hasn't been fully convincing so far this season. Another change may be using Florenzi at right back, therefore allowing Bradley to start in midfield with De Rossi and one between Tachtisidis, Pjanic or Marquinho. Florenzi was used as a right back for Crotone and for Italy's U-21's.

Meanwhile, Sabatini and Baldini had a meeting with the team yesterday, reiterating their faith in Zeman and telling the team that they have to train harder. They said that last season they were soft when players made mistakes and won't make the same errors again. They also reportedly said that if any player doesn't believe in what they're doing, they are free to leave.

Live From Trigoria - Page 2 Empty Re: Live From Trigoria

Post by ErPupone Wed Nov 21, 2012 3:49 pm

A few notes to point out after today's training session:

- Lamela is likely to be out for 3 weeks for that injury to his right ankle which he picked up against Torino.

- Balzaretti left training early today after picking up a knock in the second of two training sessions today, no word yet on what the extent of that injury is.

- Stekelenburg trained separately today.

- In a ball circulation exercise, Zeman split the team in two, with a trident consisting of Totti, Osvaldo and Lopez on one side and a back line of Piris, Marquinhos, Castan and Balzaretti and a midfield of Florenzi, Tachtsidis and Bradley on the other.

- In the mini-match at the end of the training session, Zeman tried the following formation: Piris, Marquinhos, Castan; Pjanic, Tachtsidis, Florenzi; Lopez, Osvaldo, Destro.

Big blow with Lamela being out. Hope that doesn't affect his form too much.

Upside is that this could be Lopez's chance for a decent amount of game time.

One of Lopez and Destro will get their shot, since I doubt Zeman is going to push Marquinho or Pjanic forward. My money is on Lopez, unless Zeman decides to shift Osvaldo to the right (something he did at Lecce) and put Destro in the middle.

Here's the new coaching staff:

Manager: Aurelio Andrezzoli
Assistant: Roberto Muzzi (formerly coach in our Youth system)
Technical Assistant: Antonio Carlos Zago
Fitness Coach: Francesco Chinnici
Goalkeeping Coach: Guido Nanni

Therefore, Vincenzo Cangelosi, Giacomo Modica and Roberto Ferola have all been let go.

Notes from training

Injuries:

- Perrotta was sick earlier in the week. He attempted to train, but wasn't able to finish the session therefore he left early. Totti left early as well, but to go train in the gym.

- Castan and Marquinhos are both carrying slight knocks, while Osvaldo is in doubt for Sunday. Our medical staff will wait until tomorrow before making a decision.

- Destro attended training from the sidelines, given that he's still out injured. A good gesture from the kid, showing that he wants to be part of the squad.

Tactics:

- Pjanic has been used as a jolly in midfield, as Pizarro was back in the day, meaning he may be used in a deeper role.

- One exercise note: Defenders on the ball, pass to De Rossi who immediately launches the ball to the forwards. Direct play with De Rossi at the center of action, along with Pjanic, meaning that they will be very important from here on in.

- Taddei used at right back, with Torosidis on the left. With Piris being very tired due to International duty (along with Bradley) and Dodo still confused, this could be our starting pair of full backs.

- The Center back partnering is still up in the air. Burdisso was used with Castan yesterday, while today it was Burdisso-Romagnoli and Marquinhos-Castan. I would bet on the latter.

Roma: Brain surgery for Castan
By Football Italia staff

Roma confirmed Leandro Castan will undergo neurosurgery next month to resolve a malformation in the brain.

The defender has been out of action since the 1-0 win at Empoli on September 13, which saw him substituted at half-time.

Details on what was actually afflicting him have been scarce and led to speculation he had cancer.

This evening Roma released a statement finally outlining why he was suffering from severe dizzy spells after the Empoli game.

An MRI scan revealed a “congenital vascular alteration in his brain, a condition more commonly known as a cavernoma.

“Inside the cavernoma, the tests revealed a small edema and, as a consequence, temporary swelling. This was the cause of the symptoms reported by the player, which subsided of their own accord within a few days.

“Although the cavernoma does not represent a threat to the player’s life – indeed, he is currently in peak physical condition – he is at risk of reoccurrences.

“Therefore, the medical staff, club and player have agreed that he will undergo neurosurgery at the beginning of December in order to definitively cure the problem. This will allow him to resume regular competitive sporting activity.”

It is therefore likely the Brazil international will not be back in action until well into 2015.

-----------------------------------

Poor guy. Hope he gets well.

I think we might just need another CB this winter, if I'm honest.

Radja Nainggolan interviews club president Jim Pallotta. It's surprisingly revealing. For being such a blockhead at times, Uncle Jimmy has grown on me. Very down to earth guy.
