El Pipita - Gonzalo Higuain

The sad truth is Gonzalo Higuain can NEVER win over the back stage people because:-

1) HE IS NOT A FLORENTINO PEREZ GUY. Thats right, Pipa was bought by Calderon and not Perez, and hence like Robben, Sneijder etc. he too must go, his achievements be damned

2) HE IS NOT A GALACTICO. What i mean is he doesnt have a face that cn adorn magazines and sell merchandise. Sure, we have moved on from the ill fated Galactico policy, but the point stands, that Uncle Flo would rather have an Aguero than a Higuain.

The Madridista in me is sad to hear about Pipa leaving, but the Pipa aficionado in me is happy that he's moving away from this circus that cant recognise its best striker even when hes out scoring ronaldo (in Ronaldo's Debut season)

Anyway, I completely agree with raulmadrid: Perez needs to *bleep* off ASAP and we won't get a Madridista like Pipita in a long long time. The guy gave it his all every time he played and won his place on the pitch every single year. Heartbreaking and completely unnecessary.

Don't get me wrong, we can replace him quality-wise but in my opinion he should have been our Argentinian Raul. Now he's off to somewhere where he'll get the respect he deserves and I truly hope it's either Juve or Arsenal because he deserves to be at a top club playing every single game.

A fan favorite, a truly hard worker. He won 3 Laligas and a Copa for us and the amount of fond memories he brought us in the 6 and a half magical years

Higgy was a serious option last yr cos they desperately wanted a top class striker for both their sporting and marketing ambitions too.

I've been on record for over 2 years now saying we should build our team around Ozil-Benz-Higuain and get a dominant midfield... personally, i think we've peaked with CR7 as the focal point. He can't possible score more than he has the past 2 years. The only way to improve would have been to change the focus (or to remove some of the focus; but CR7 would never accept that).

But that's never going to happen. I have a feeling Benz-Higuain reunite at PSG in 2 years when Ibra moves on.

As much as i criticized Higuain... it wasn't because i wanted him to leave. Far from. I thought he should play in front of Benz and not instead of him.

Oh well...

Sad to see him leave but I guess it was best for him to try a new experience, like he said he would have left last season if not for Mourinho and his teammates. I was very sad when he was booed by the Bernabeu fans, I hope his new fans treat him better. Good luck Pipa.

Surag... that may be true. But the Rooney, Cavani, etc. rumors were to replace Ibra. Once Ibra decided to stay as Raiola confirmed, then the focus becomes a second scorer next to him. The only one that works is a pure 9.
