UPDATED General Rules

Usage Guidelines

 

• Posting nudity, pornography, profanity, pictures containing profanity, vulgarity, hate speech, hostile comments or threats of violence or death, is strictly prohibited and will result in removal of offending posts and potential expulsion from the community.
  
  
• Attempts of any kind to circumvent the profanity filter in any manner will result in removal of the post and a warning. Repeated attempts will result in a ban.
  This includes; removal of a letter/letters, addition of a letter/letters, number(s) or symbol(s) to a filtered word.
  
  
• Advertising of any kind, spamming, solicitations, trolling and posts discussing moderator actions (DOMA) are not allowed.
  
  
• Each member is allowed one login account therefore registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. Failure to comply will result in a permanent ban. Creating a secondary account while the primary account is banned is considered as owning multiple accounts and will result in the permanent ban for both accounts and any future accounts.
  
  
• Please keep messages productive by keeping subject matter of posts on-topic with the board focus. Off-topic or unproductive posts will be moved and/or removed for the benefit of all members.
  
  
• Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
  
  
• We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. We also reserve the right to ban anyone, temporarily or permanently, who is deemed to have willfully violated the forum rules, as access to our forums are a privilege and not a right.
  
  
• The administrators and moderators will be monitoring the information posted to the site; however, accuracy of content cannot be guaranteed.  While we will attempt to monitor the content of the forums as constantly as possible, there may be times when we are not able to deal with infringements immediately.  Please be patient as all reported posts will be dealt with in as timely a fashion as possible.
  
  
• All messages express the views of the author, and neither the administrators nor moderators of Goallegacy forums, nor Forummotion (hosts of this forum) will be held responsible for the content of any message.
  
  
• We do not claim ownership for any material posted on these forums, including pictures, links and news paper articles.
  
  
• By posting on these forums you agree to follow the rules stated herein, and heed the decisions of the moderators and administrators who enforce them.
  
  
• By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, discriminating or otherwise violative of any laws.
  
  
• The administrators of Goallegacy forums reserve the right to remove, edit, ban posters, move or close any thread for any reason. Their word is final on all such cases stated above. By this, we mean that this forum operates on a dictatorship and is not a democracy.
  

Users who break these rules will be either warned if the offense is minor, have their warning level reduced if the offense is moderate, or banned, temporarily or permanently, if the offense is severe. The severity of the Moderator or Administrator action will depend on the severity of the offense; however, listed below are possible consequences for each offense.

Common, minor offenses such as circumnavigating the filter or derailment of a thread will result in a warning, either through a post by a member of the staff or via private message by a member of the staff or removal of the post and a warning.  Explanations about the warning are not required by the staff.

Moderate offenses, such as DOMA or trolling or repeated minor offenses, such a repeated profanity will result in a reduction in the warning level or removal of the post/posts and a reduction in the warning level. The amount reduced from the warning level is dependent on the offense and will be decided by the staff. The staff will give an explanation of the reduction to the individual either in the relevant thread or via private message.

Severe offenses, such as owning multiple accounts or repeated moderate offenses, such as repeated DOMA, will result in a ban of the individuals account. It may be temporary or permanent depending on the severity or frequency of bans. Repeated bans will result in longer bans regardless of the offense.

The gradation of offenses (warning  →  warning level reduction → ban) is not linear. The punishment is purely dependent on the severity of the offense. If a first time user commits a serious offense, the individual will be banned without a prior warning. All questions relating to punishments should be addressed to the staff via private message.


If you feel uncertain or unclear on any of these rules, please feel free to contact an administrator or moderator via the Private Messaging function for clarification.  Confusion or ignorance of these rules does not constitute immunity from them or a defense in the case of infractions and punishment.

Another thing I would like to remind everyone is that when you do post an article from somewhere or a piece of news. Please remember to post the link with it. Otherwise it breaks the copy right laws for few media outlets.
