You are a young know-nothing that doesn't realise that Manchester United is a Hollywood club supported by a bunch of know-nothings that don't understand that there are are far more gloried clubs in England, much less Europe, than Manchester United. US style promotion have gotten ManU a bunch of fans in places where football is not understood. Ask any Latin American which team they support in Europe, and it won't be an EPL team you idiot.

Manchester United is a Johnny Come Lately club. Liverpool is far more storied and successful.
By Wiggles.

For me, this the closest description of Man Utd. Exactly my thoughts. Lets think like this. Lets take top clubs over the history:

Juventus, Inter, Milan_______Real, Barca______Ajax, Bayern______Barcelona, Real_______Porto, Benfica_______Pool, MU, Arsenal.

Talking over the history, all these clubs with the exception to Porto, Benfica and Arsenal, have greater history and achievements than MU. Yet, mancs have most fans in the world and biggest brand. Your typical person that knows barely about football mentions: "Maradona, Pele, MU" in one sentence. How many players got Balon D Or at MU? Is it unfair?

50% of manu fans is from asia, because of the time zone.In asia EpL is the only league wich is not shown after midnight. All other league matches are around 1 AM around while EPL here starts at 6.30 pm.So people here only support manyoooo and chelsee lol.

When I looked at official stats of club popularity in Asia, I found out that Milan and RM are ahead of MU in China. Yet, they dont get that hype. Pepsi Cola commercials made MU.

india is the reason for that.. 90 percent and i mean 90 percent of people are man u fans here simply because epls given so much of importance and united's name is bandied around.. the glory hunting is simply unbelievable.. and since india is the second most populous country along with bangladesh, pakistan etc united get quite a huge fan base..i ts really annoying no offense to united fans but still to see glory hunters, ignorant fans wanking bout saf or chicharito as the best or rooney second to messi , when barca beat united despite being a madrid fan i was really damn happy..

the epl is a well marketed league than their counterparts i.e la liga and serie a..they have a huge market in asia and africa coz of the no.of english speaking countries..in india undoubtedly epl is far ahead of ny other league in terms of popularity ..not only we're a populated country but also english speaking as well..so the epl clubs have exploited it well !!!but barca executives were thr a few days ago in india and they said they want to make barca the most supported club in india..it could change with time u know..ulitimately its all about success on the pitch !!

Let's spit at United for being genius at marketing the brand.

I still don't get this "my club is better/has better history then yours, wank wank", it looks like kids arguing about which gaming console is better. I would not be surprised if the average age here is the same as said teenagers.

History is just what it is, history, stop living in the past and just enjoy the damn game. By your logic, at the moment Nottingham Forest is a bigger club than Arsenal and Chelsea because they won 2 CL ages ago. A bit extreme, but just points that history is for elitist jerks.

Inter defined an era in 60s, creators of cattenaccio. They influenced football like Ajax and Barca. I'd say Inter and Barca had bigger number of legendary players in history (maybe I am not that much into English players? Well there are obvious reasons for that). Barca and Inter had longer dominance time in Europe. Thing is that MU from a today's Benfica-level club blowed up in 1999 into some kind of Lakers-alternative (though MU never possessed the equivalent history and success).

MU today is associated with everything it is bad about football: commercialisation, hype, big money.

Again thats ur opinion .That doesnt represent the whole view of India . Infact what Footaball supporters hardly make 1% of Indian population and u base on whom they support to suggest Sub-Continent has the biggest band wagoners .

You are right about that. The Man Utd bandwagoners have quietened down a bit, now it's the Barca bandwagoners you see in every street. They all started supporting Barca post 2009 and can't name a single player apart from Ronaldinho in pre 2009 Barca.

Lets just put it this way:

Seria A fans would argue about the importance of history and how their teams are "historically better" just because they are nowhere near the top at the moment. Their league's CL spot got taken away by the Bundesliga, which says all you need to know about how far they have fallen behind the rest of the leagues.

Other fans have common sense and won't care much about "history" because it has no effect on what is going on right now.

History is overrated.
