Sad day for football
I know some people are delighted with the UTD trashing cause sometimes it's just one's desire to see the mighty fall...And there's someone to trash on Goal Legacy
This is the victory of money.Football lost today...Nothing to be happy about.

Re: Sad day for football
After Sir Alex Ferguson described the defeat to Manchester City as "our worst ever day", we present a selection of some of his other dismal days and the teams that eventually won the title.
Newcastle 5 Man Utd 0 (October 20, 1996)
Kevin Keegan's Newcastle blew United away at St James' Park. The Magpies had lost the Community Shield 4-0 earlier in the season but the same side got it right as Darren Peacock, David Ginola, Les Ferdinand, Alan Shearer and Philippe Albert found the target.
Title winners: Man Utd.
Southampton 6 Man Utd 3 (October 26, 1996)
A week after the humiliation at St James' Park, United came unstuck spectacularly again. After Eyal Berkovic gave Saints an early lead, Roy Keane was sent off, and Saints took over with an Egil Ostenstad hat-trick and further goals from Berkovic and Matt Le Tissier. David Beckham, David May and Paul Scholes replied for the visitors.
Title winners: Man Utd.
Chelsea 5 Man Utd 0 (October 3, 1999)
United goalkeeper Massimo Taibi gifted Chelsea's Gus Poyet a first minute goal - and the hosts never looked back as United's 29-game unbeaten run was emphatically ended. United's hopes ended when Nicky Butt was sent off, with Poyet, Chris Sutton, Jody Morris and a Henning Berg own goal compounding a miserable day for Ferguson's men.
Title winners: Man Utd.
Man Utd 1 Liverpool 4 (March 14, 2009)
Cristiano Ronaldo gave United a 23rd-minute lead but Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard (penalty) turned things around before Nemanja Vidic's straight red card 15 minutes from time. The visitors made the man advantage tell in the closing stages, with Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena netting
.
Title winners: Man Utd

While not even winning titles. Real Madrid is still one of the richest clubs in the world and certainly one of the most popular.Messi wrote:Real Madrid spends more money than man city and people worship them like they are gods.
It's good to be rich and glamorous.

Not trying to defend the Utd. bashing, but unless Everton win the BPL I'd say money wins.

Ferguson's team is based and deeply rooted in football knowledge and anyone who thinks different is mad.Regardless of what they spent...Sneijder would have moved to UTD if they paid what he wanted.Fergie is not about the money.

I don't get wats wrong with a money whoring team ... it creates more competitive teams, suddenly the Manchester Derby is won by city.

Clubs rise and fall, what's the difference if United or City wins? As long as they play good football. City just has more money. It's not like United are poor.

People say manchester city is buying it's titles and wins, well so is madrid. Every season both teams replace half the team.Adit wrote:barca has spend around 400 in 3 years ,whats your point???Messi wrote:Real Madrid spends more money than man city and people worship them like they are gods.

Which gives them the right to spend more $$$ without taking flak...?MARADONA>messi wrote:difference is madrid and utd are clubs with actual history...
Not saying that that's what you were implying, but I hear that type of logic all the time and I can't really get behind it.

Re: Sad day for football
Everyone on the United team today was bought by money apart from Fletcher I think.
Also if you have the money your gonna spend it. Barca are he second highest spenders in the history of football every team spends so gtfo.
