Barca v Inter in 4 games, barca won 2 scored 4 and inter won 1 scored 3. They both tied once. If it wasn't for that offside goal in milan, barca would have gone through.
I wouldn't say best team, but maybe best defensively.

Barca won in 06 thanks to Lehman. And even then they were getting pwned but Larsson saved them with 2 fluke passes. They weren't the best team.

You can't compare Inter's CL to Porto's.Porto beat Manchester in the first knockout round and then had a relatively easy task ahead with Lyon,Deportivo and Monaco.

To say "best team" in the world..I'd expect some inkling of that pedigree to show in the following year, at the very least. League victory would've definitely cemented it. The fact that "best team" in the world can undergo a crisis just by hiring Rafa says a lot. Not to mention the demolition at the hands of Schalke..considering that they were defending champions..and considering how easily Schalke were swatted away by Manu.

But for now, for me anyway, it was all Mourinho and the masterful implementation of his tactics. Not trying to take anything away from Inter, they were tactically brilliant. Possibly, the best tactical team in the world at the time and they owed it all to Mou. But one-hit wonders happen. 3-hit wonder in their case.

They fully deserved to win the CL. But that title alone doesn't guarantee that they were the best team in the world. Noone remembers a team that was the "best" for one year. At least if they made it to the semis or finals of the next CL, the argument could be made that they maintained consistency. But they didn't. And consistency is vital with any team claiming to have been the best. This is football..shock victories/results/runs happen all the time. It's consistency that sets apart the true champions.

Way to dismiss Lyon and Depor. That Lyon team consistently beat Madrid and those Depor teams were strong, very strong...go look at their consistent results in those times.

As much as I hate Inter, yes they were the best team in the world at the 2009/10 season. They won the treble, and they did not have an easy road. They had to beat a Chelsea side who won the Premier League by scoring 8 goals in one match regularly and also won a FA Cup, 3-1 in two legs. They beat Barcelona who hardly anyone can beat FAIR AND SQUARE. Please Barca fans, stop crying about a volcano exploding. I fail to comprehend how a trip in an air conditioned bus killed the players. And it's ironic how Barcists complain about Milito's offside goal, he had a goal incorrectly chalked up for offside earlier in the game.Inter were the better team BY FAR in the 1st leg and in the 2nd leg they put on a fantastic defensive display with 10 men after Peekaboo Busquets got Motta sent off. Talk about selective memory. Then they beat the German Champions Bayern Munich in the final and deservedly lifted the Champions League. They also had the nerves to hold on to the Scudetto after Roma's magnificent comeback and also won the Coppa Italia.

O fcourse, the only way to measure a team's success is by their trophy's, and a treble winning season for 'Inter makes them "king of the castle" for that season, only a fool would argue against it.

If Inter got lucky fair enough , but did they? no. They swept aside every team they came against. They were the best team in the world end of. Can not believe all these excuses. What the hell is the point in winning the champions league then apart from the money? we might as well forfeit every year to Barcelona since clearly no other team has the chance to prove they can be the best that year just automatically give the trophy to Barca.
