Sunderland duo bailed

Sunderland stars Lee Cattermole and Nicklas Bendtner have been arrested and released on bail after cars were damaged in a city centre.

The 23-year-old duo were held by Northumbria Police having been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and bailed following an incident in Newcastle earlier this month.

A spokesman said: "Police can confirm that on 15 December two men aged 23 were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. It follows an investigation into cars damaged on Stowell Street in Newcastle city centre which happened about 10pm on 6 December. The two men have been bailed."
