The replay shows Pepe was staring at the ref the whole time. It was an accident, not everything has to be intentional.

I like Pepe as a defender, but he can be an absolutely moronic thug. Today was probably the best example of his idiocy. Stamped on Messi's hand, going in with dangerous tackles when he felt like it... and he even tried to out-act Busquets, dropping down and clutching his face, when Fabregas simply brushed Pepe's chest! Ridiculous actions.
