Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Interesting, he is one of the players I don't want to see to start for you guys There is still a slight chance that the deal might fall throughKhaledbarca wrote:Sanchez will be in Barcelona Tomorrow "afternoon"?
Udinese attacker Alexis Sanchez (22) has left the Chilean national team hotel and will in a few hours take a flight to Barcelona. Sanchez will fly from Santiago de Chile to Paris, and then to Barcelona, where he should arrive on Wednesday in the afternoon. [ona-rac1]
`Note: Enrique Pina (representative Udinese in Spain): "The deal on Sanchez is 80% done, the other 20% can be dealt with in one or some days." "Soriano won't be part of the Sanchez deal. Jeffren is a player we are interested in." [rac1]

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Presidents like Pozzo are just trying to milk the market. Seeing the over-inflated prices in the market currently he wants to squeeze as much as possible from us. He actually wants to sell the player knowing that he may not get this kind of price again for him. We should use an iron fist against him. I guess we are apprehensive of ManCity paying an insane amount and snatching him. However if I try to read A.Sanchez's mind, if after dreaming of Barcelona he is asked to play for ManCity, he will probably kick Pozzo in the teeth. One more point about Pozzo. Remember when he was desperate to sell Gaetano D'Agostino to Juventus but the deal never happened. Now how many people still take the name of D'Agostino? Still if we are willing to pay this kind of price for A.Sanchez then he is almost surely Pep's handpick of all possible options and maybe Pep wants to sign him even more than he wants to sign Fabregas.
Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Gino Pozzo (son owner Udinese): "Sanchez has not shown any preference, but I can say that right now Barcelona has the edge over Man City."
"We have not yet closed the transfer because there are still some details to arrange." [via tuttomercatoweb]

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Heard that ManCity are putting more money in Pozzo's mouth and trying to bag A.Sanchez. However understandably he wants to play for us. If Pozzo asks us to raise the already mammoth bid I insist we back off and let the owner and player deal with ManCity first.
Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Pozzo is trying to robbed us in a daylight. Sanchez is not worth 40 M euro, come on, one good season and Pozzo is trying to make 50M on him. Hendersons and Carolls of this world ruined market and every chief of club which is trying to sell his player is trying to rape a buying club.

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
You are right matpol. They are almost asking for twice what he is worth. At such a time it's best to pull out of the deal and leave them to sort out things. If they can loot ManCity and convince him to go there peace be with him. We should only enter the picture after Pozzo apologizes for having behaved like Zamparini part II. Pastore is worth E50m. Really??? I am not too sure I will pay E25m for him, forget more. Fellow can't even get in an Argentina national team in spite of having not one attacking midfielder as such to compete with. Also he missed a sitter in the Coppa Italia final as part of the team that played better but showed that they just didn't have the winning mentality. Right now some of these presidents are infuriating me by the kind of money they are asking for their grossly overrated players. On these lines we should ask for at least E20m for Jeffren, E25m for Bojan and E30m for Thiago so to say. I mean Pastore misses a sitter and loses the Coppa Italia final. Jeffren saves Spain from near death in an amazing off the bench cameo. Why should Pastore be worth three times that of Jeffren? We really should think carefully if we are stupidly undervaluing our own players. First Bojan impressed people at a very young age. Now Thiago is the talk of the town. Last night was about Jeffren. That's just three names and who knows how good they could become in the future. Thiago and Jeffren also seem to have a winning mentality which I think is important rather than going by talent alone.
Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
50 mil for an unproven kid.
I am just glad that Rossell is sensible when it comes to transfers.
Nothing doing.25 mil max for Sanchez.City can have him otherwise.
If Sanchez is worth 50 mil then Thiago is worth 100 mil.

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
It does seem like the Sanchez deal won’t happen.
Udinese’s Spanish representative Quique Pina latest statements make it clear that Barcelona won’t be signing Sanchez.
“We want to allow Alexis Sanchez to join a top club, but we’ll sell to the highest bidder. There are several clubs that have shown interest in Sanchez and maybe one of them offers more than Barcelona. We could allow Barcelona to include players in the deal but even doing that, we’re not getting there.” via barcastuff
The other day it was, “The deal is 80 per cent done and we’re working on the remaining 20%,” now it’s “we’re not getting there.”

Yes Gaudiola. Considering what I have been reading during the last few days I did expect hiccups and your post kind of confirms that.
Overall it seems A.Sanchez and Fabregas have been specified as Pep's top two priorities but he has also told Rossell that he understands that the deals can happen only at acceptable prices.

Barca will not pay more than 30M cash for any player... They could include players and variables..
Barca first offer for Sanchez was 27M + 5M variables + Jeffren, but it seems that Jeffren don't want to join udinese.. His agent (father) said that Jeffren wants to stay @ Barca but if he has to leave he has better offers from england (liverpool)...
Barca 2nd offer for Sanchez, 25-27M plus 10-12M variables!

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Besides the inclusion of a player, the main problem regarding the transfer of Alexis Sanchez is the way of paying: at once or spread. With Jeffren rejecting to join Udinese, the Italian club seems willing to accept B player Jonathan dos Santos in the Sanchez deal. [as]

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Interesting khaled. I can understand Jeffren having refused because he has some kind of standing and he is also the under-21 Euro semi final hero. However Jonathan better not show any preference now. He is so far away from the first team at Barcelona. Whenever he gets a chance to play for Mexico something or the other goes wrong. He should just move somewhere where people want him and start playing in the top flight.

Udinese owner Gino Pozzo and Barcelona executives yesterday evening reached an agreement on the transfer of Alexis Sanchez (22).
Barcelona will pay 40M plus variables for Udinese attacker Alexis Sanchez (22), who will sign a 5-year deal with Barcelona. [as]

DEAL IS Almost DONE!
Vice-president Bartomeu is in constant talks with the Pozzo family, the owners of Udinese, on Alexis Sanchez. A 26M cash+11M variables deal is close.

khaled and billy, the latest reports do seem a little more trustworthy than mere rumors but by now we are all just too tired of all this and want the official stamp immediately.
Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
JD I understand, however transfers of this magnitude (financially) take time.
Wait and see what's going to happen with cesc

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
I agree billy. It's exaggerated or even fabricated reporting in the media which gives us an even harder time. As for the Cesc deal that's tried the patience of virtually every single individual who follows European club football regularly.
Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Well in today's Chile Vs. Peru match, one of the commentators said that when asked about Sanchez' transfer to Barca, Borghi said it was done, for 40 million euros. Whether it's done or not remains to be seen, but I don't think anyone made up what was said by the coach.

Re: Sanchez to Barca? Done Deal?
Even if it's E40m it's definitely not all fixed. It seems around E27m is fixed and the rest is variable. This is not bad because the variables will depend on how successful he is and if he shines for us then it will all be worth it. Yes the overall price may be a little high but just look at what kind of crazy transfer market we are in.
