What? Charlie Adam only has 6 assists in the Premier League.

Deflections for own goals don't count as an assist nor does a shot that is saved / rebounded off the keeper according to the official PL site. Hence, he only has 6, like pool has stated.

And he really needs to improve his tackling. He nearly gave away a penalty for Dzeko in the Carling Cup, and nearly was sent off again today. How he's only been sent off once is amazing.

That's why i mentioned not confirmed, Even i thought he was around 5-6.

Having a DM like Spearing to take of the defensive duties helped him too yesterday.

Couldn't have agreed more . . introduction of Spearing has certainly boosted his game

If Adam could work on his defensive game (and his decision making), he has the potential to be a really good, complete Central Midfielder. I'm not saying he needs to be Lucas or Mascherano, just enough so that he isn't a defensive liability. As it is, he has the ability to create so many chances (both for our team and the opposition, unfortunately). He certainly has the ability to control a game, as we witnessed last night. However, his use is tarnished somewhat by the need to deploy a defensive midfielder to cover for him.

Hendo is certainly a more rounded player, but I haven't yet seen that same ability to control the tempo and flow of the game. Then again, he's also younger and learning from a few of the best. Who knows what he'll accomplish.

Unfortunately, I can't see Spearing being a regular starter without the injury setbacks we've seen this season. He is wonderful cover. However, barring a lengthy run of games, I can't see him securing regular first team football.

Adam can't tackle and spends most of the game chasing and kicking. Needs to adapt his game a little bit. Alonso was never the greatest tackler but used his skills to the max and this is where I see Adam, a natural Alonso replacement (true a cheap mans version).

Hendo has been bought to finally cover Gerrard when he hangs his boots. Ideal for Hendo to learn things from Gerrard and I think he will do just fine.

I miss his corners

No. I don't miss anything about him. I had forgotten he was our player.

I actually quite like Adam as a player, although his weaknesses were too great to be playing for a top-4 contenders. But his strengths are quite good, too, from time to time he comes up with a play you don't expect from most players.

Those times are just quite few and far between anymore, and come sporadically between long stretches of being absolutely diabolical.
