i've always thought that at some point he'll be at inter, and messi will come along and join him when he starts to decline. zanetti will still be there too.

Given the money he spent and the fact that Messi grew up coincidently the same time pep came,reaching success really isn't doing anything. The only thing I give him credit for is making Xavi the player he is today.

To some extent I agree with Milanfan on the final point.

Now hear me out first, I'm not saying Xavi is nothing without Pep or any of that bullshit, but Xavi has progressively lost desire for the final ball and I can't help but feel Pep has had some influence there.

All in all he is probably a better player albeit Xavi has now turned into a player whose defensive influence is somewhat more impactful than his offensive influence.Nothing wrong with that of course.

The difference is that we promote for role players, so we can spend more on quality ones. Whereas Madrid have to buy both.
