Our new idea

As you guys may have read in the Tello thread, myself and Kizz have come up with a new plan to expand upon our database and have a thread for each player.

I think like the barcaforum as many of your probably have lurked on or even posted on its a nice way to organise ourselfs and its good to have threads for all the players. Stats, opinions, videos and everything can go in so that player can be discussed at length and we dont need to go back and forward in other threads between different subject matter and derail them unintentionally.

There are already existing threads for players like Valdes, Messi, Xavi and others and those will remain.

Kizz come up with a very apt name for young Tello, the Flash, so while this is an announcement of our plan I would welcome ideas of nicknames.

This is a copy from the Barcaforum, they inspired this.

Indeed, the Madrid section have similar and the aspect we are stealing from them is the "nickname" part.

But no matter, its all one in the same. We saw this in the Madrid section a long time ago and didnt do it then.

We cant be too proud to admit that aspect of their section is good and worth us doing. Can we?

Agree with Albiceleste. Madrid section always struck me as juvenile. With all those retarded nicknames, their front page is like a classifieds section for Mexican luchadores . Would genuinely appreciate if we didn't follow suit, but hey..it's just a forum, and it looks like most of us don't mind..so neither do I.

Can we just have Messi as "La Pulga" and Iniesta as "Don Andres" or "El Anti Galactico" ? As long as they have media appointed nicknames, I don't see why we should go out of our way to make new ones..that aren't really that great.

Perhaps media given names for those famous ones, but I thought for example, Kizz having "the flash" next to Tello made sense and fit quite well and it indeed did stand out.

Anyway, keep the opinions coming and me and Kizz will talk it over. Nicknames are not a big thing, its more the organisation of the section which interests me and it seems in terms of that, it seems people are mostly for it.

Why are you guys against a great idea that organizes your section alot more just becouse the Madrid section is using the same idea?

Definitely. The organizational benefits are out of the question, sorry if I was just nitpicking on the tiny details. I just agreed with Albiceleste and thought I'd chip in. But I'm all for the idea to have a thread on each player - especially with all the stats and youtube videos.

Edit : "The Flash" isn't bad either

We don't have to make threads containing their nicknames, but in regular forum conversation and discussion we can use them

I think player forums are a hit and a miss though. I mean, barcaforum already has that well enough and it seems that alot of people are either on that forum or lurk there. We don't really obsess about a player here for a specific period of time and I can see many threads going to the graveyard due to inactivity
