Guardiola is applauded as he finishes his press conference. Barcelona players, including Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Busquets, stayed after training to attend and several are in tears as their manager finishes speaking.

Guardiola: "This club has a powerful force. It is unstoppable. Whoever will replace me will be able to take it on and do it marvellously."

Guardiola: "When I was appointed, I started jumping like a little kid. To be able to take charge of the 'A' team was unbelievable. Time has taken its toll and I rise each day and don't feel the same. I am going with the understanding that I have done my duty."

Guardiola: "I want to thank my players. I have had such a great privilege to train them. Day by day for so many years, my players made it all possible. I am going to recover myself."

Guardiola: "You can only recover by resting and getting away from everything. It would have been a bad idea to continue. Perhaps it would not have gone wrong but I have the perception that it would. It is my time to go."

Guardiola: "I want to thank my players who are responsible for everything that has happened here. It has been a great pleasure to train them. I have tried to do my job with a lot of passion."

Guardiola: "The reason is simple. Four years gets tiring. The new coach will give things I am not able to give any more. "

Guardiola: "Now we are out of the two main competitions it is a good time to announce this. I did not want to continue with the confusion. The reason is simple: four years is enough. The new coach will give things that I am unable to give any more. To be in front of the media every three days for four years is very demanding."

Guardiola: "At the beginning of December I announced to the chairman that I was seeing the end of my era at Barcelona. Obviously we couldn't say that publicly."

Guardiola: "I have always wanted short contracts because the demand from Barcelona is so big. I always thought that four years is an eternity for a coach."

Pep won't be coaching, he takes a sabatical period. He'll come back to coaching sooner or later, but doesn't know when.

The best coach we ever had as far as im concerned. I am forever gratful and while I am tremendously sad to see him go and cannot fault him.

I am glad Tito will take over, he will give continuity and I think that might be the very best thing for the current group. I would be worried about the current group having the desire to learn a whole new method from a new coach and trying to learn new ideas.

So I think, while the core remains the same, Titi is a good choice.

But again, my thought are with Pep and while I am sad, I am very grateful for the 4 years of titles and joy he has brought.

Today we lose the best coach in the world and the best we ever had.

Best coach we ever had,No one comes close.I am sad to see him go and I wish him luck in the future.As The Franchise said,I am glad Tito will take over as he has been around for a long time and he knows the club inside out.However,A more experienced Head coach maybe would have been better But I guess we'll find out next season.

Even as a neutral observer of Barcelona, I still find myself wanting to thank Pep for his role in playing such beautiful football over the past four years. As a European rival I'm never sad to see such a strong adversary depart, however I have admired his drive, initiative and genius. His trust in his own beliefs and his own players is commendable and I shall watch the rest of his journey with great interest.

Take a bow son and enjoy a well deserved rest.

Whaaattaguy! A legend, the best ever. Will really miss him. I remember from the preseason itself from the first year he took over, you could see he was going to do something amazing; and he did to say the least.

He deserves a break after all he has done. Amazing.

Thanks Pep, the best Barcelona coach ever, thank you for all the beautiful moments you've brought to us as fans and for these great past 4 years. This is very hard to take but we will have to move on. Let's give Tito a chance to prove himself to us.
