Absolutely brilliant show, didn't watch it until not long ago and I worked my way from near the season 1 finale right through to now. Thought I would bump this close to season 8.

- Spoiler:
- How there were not many high level demons and now as a result they're all dead apart from Crowley. The demon story arc was my favourite and it has kind of taken a permanent back seat because it's either Crowley or the original sh*tty demons

Yeah agreed. A return to form after a so-so season with the Leviathans. Let's consider this its 4th wind

Re: Supernatural
From season 1 to 5 the the show was simply amazing. They were pulling miracles considering that it's a low budget show, but since season 5, there is no plan, the new directors seem a bit lost and without clear and fresh ideas. . . This decline was most probably due to Kim Manner's death (producer and director of the show and previously X-Files).

Re: Supernatural
1-5 were amazing. 6 and 7 really really really had me feeling like the show had become a chore for me instead of entertainment. However, this 8th season picked up again, I quite enjoyed it.
But tbh we can all agree that every antagonist that comes after the Satan will be sort of anticlimactic. I feel they ended the arc with Lucifer way too quick if they planned on dragging the show past season 5.

I couldn't agree more and yes, this was a nice season.
After season 5 though too many characters were brought in the show out of the blue, they were supposed to have an important role and left without an impact. For example: Adam Milligan (Sam's and Dean's little brother), Eve "The mother of all", Samuel Campbell (their maternal grandfather), Benny the vampire and many more. There was also no need to kill Bobby, neither all the Arch-Angels, now the story has become messed up when it comes to Heaven or Hell.
And as you said, it should had ended with Lucifer vs Michael and a proper series finale would be the vessel theory they were talking about back then.
Lucifer's vessel = Sam, Michael's vessel = Dean, God's vessel = John Winchester...Now that would be an epic finale.

Re: Supernatural
Yeah that's the problem with Lucifer
He's top of the bad guy food chain.
I felt they never introduced enough Arc Angels and High level demons.
Like the white eyed demons, and yellow eyes.
Result? A bunch of weak demons and one medim level demon becoming king of hell.
Great series, but they killed off 90% of the big guns in the Angel & Demon storyline.

Also I wish the 4 horseman had a longer usage. Their potential as bad guys could've been huge.

Re: Supernatural
Death will come back. But hes 100% neutral. He's too powerful to care about humans. But the rest had potential I agree.

Re: Supernatural
Death is probably the most powerful supernatural being they've encountered so far. I would go as far as to say that he was/is much more powerful than Lucifer.
Should make him the ultimate bad guy for the next two seasons imo.

Disagree Nishy, Season 6 was absolutely one of the worst along with 7. Five on the other hand was probably one of the best. I know my favorite is one of 3/4/5.

Re: Supernatural
Anyone got theories on the ending? Remember back in season 5, Dean travels to a post apocalyptic future (2014) he encounters Lucifer in Sam's body and Lucifer says, no matter what happens, what details change, both of them will end up here (front of a church in Detroit I think) in that time. I think this will be the series finale with season 9 being the final season. I also think that Antichrist kid also from season 5 will come in play, he was one of the most powerful beings encountered.

Yeah a lot of people think that that future will still play out. But that'll be close to the ending, perhaps not the ending.

Re: Supernatural
Perhaps that might happen, but didn't Dean change that future? That future only happened because Lucifer won against Sam, and Dean didn't allow that to happen. However it can still happen because 'Lucifer' shouldn't be that weak to stay in the cage forever.
I don't think ( or i hope not) that season 9 will be the last season. If they can spend season 9 on Angels vs Demons Vs Hunters then they are set for 23 episodes with 15 of them being about random monsters. Also the show isnt under threat of being cancelled.
Regarding how it can end. Sam always talks about how he sees a light at the end of the tunnel while Dean thinks they will end up dead one day ( or he will end up dead saving Sam) It's hard to predict. With 9+ seasons, they should really end it with 'living happily ever after' with no more demons n shit left. But They might also go for a bittersweet ending with Dean dying and Sam living a good life.
Or they both can die leaving Garth as the main man

Re: Supernatural
The theory is RG, that it'll happen anyway. Because the Angel (Not technically an angel but I can't spell what he really is) told him that NO MATTER WHAT all roads lead to that one.
So they make it seem like Sam & Dean changed it, but in the end they didn't. They just went down a different road.
If you remember on that episode, Cas was a human. And now he's lost his 'grace' and is techinically human
It does seem likely.
