Arsenal vs Aston Villa
Saturday 15:00 BST
Emirates Stadium
Referee: Phil Clown

Form guide
Arsenal: WWWWWW
Aston Villa: DLLDDW

They see us Rollin, They hatin

Another win, Another solid performance and another slap onto media's faces. The Arsenal who were tipped to finish outside the top 4 back in october are now sitting 3rd ahead of Chelsea and Tottenham. I really don't have much to add to our remarkable form and the past few weeks. Much has already been said and i don't want to jinx anything frankly lol But i will still insist that its far from over. We need to keep winning and there is no time to take a breather or relax.

Arsenal face Aston Villa tomorrow, in a match which should be straight forward, but it never is against them. They somehow beat us 2-1 last year at home, we somehow won at villa park with a 90th min winner and they went 2-0 up few months back at home in the FA cup. They really are a team which frustrates Arsenal with their grit n determination. They might be all the way down at 15th but we need to make sure we get an early goal and that will make things much easier. We need to convert our chances, We missed a lot of opportunities against Everton and on an another day, that could have proved costly As we of all teams should know.

So the game plan for tomorrow should be to play like we have been in the past few weeks, and to score as early as possible. Then Counter them like we usually do and finish of the game. Easier said then done but hey, not impossible.

Team News

Diaby is fit, but Won't be risked as wenger is being cautious over him. He will play another reserve match and then he will be unleashed. Wilshere is still 2-3-4-5 weeks away and apart from that, no new injury. Surprisingly.

For Aston Villa; Ciaran Clark, Darren Bent, Richard Dunne and Delph are all out injured. N'somnia is doubtful for tomorrow but he will play and rape us as usual, unless he plays against sagna. Then you won't see him unless he gets subbed. Andreas Weimann Could start ahead of him if he somehow stays unfit

Probable Teams

-------------------------------Szczesny-------------------------------------

Sagna---------------Bosscielny------------Verminator----------------Keiran Carlos

----------------------------------Songinho-----------------------------------

----------------Arteta-----------------------Mozart---------------------------

-Theonell Walcott-------------------Van perfect------------------------Oxlade-Chamberlain

Wenger has to start Oxlade/Gervinho tomorrow, away u can understand not starting oxlade but at home, I think oxlade should have the license to thrill, get me.

Aston Villa

-----------------------------------Given----------------------------------------

Cuellar----------------Collins-----------------Herd---------------------Warnock

Albrighton--------------Petrov----------Ireland------------------------Hutton

Match Facts ( BBC )

Head-to-head

  • Aston Villa won at Arsenal last season for only the second
time in the last 25 attempts; Darren Bent scored two early goals in a
2-1 victory on the penultimate weekend of the season.
  • Arsenal have lost only two of their last 26 league meetings with Aston Villa (W16, D8, L2).

Arsenal

  • The Gunners have won their last six Premier League matches,
scoring 19 goals in the process. They have not won seven successive
league games since August-October 2007. Their current run included four
    successive victories after falling behind.
  • They are in third place after a complete round of fixtures for the first time this season.
  • Arsenal have gained an unrivalled 19 points from losing positions, including six wins.
  • Robin van Persie made his 25th league start of the season
on Wednesday night; it's his career-high tally for a single campaign.
According to Infostrada, the Dutchman has scored or assisted in 36
league goals this season, 11 more than second-placed Wayne Rooney.

Aston Villa

  • Villa have earned just 10 points from the last available 27
(W2, D4, L3), but they have only lost one of their last eight away
    games.
  • Alex McLeish's side have only won one of their 14 previous
matches against top-half opposition - away to Chelsea on New Year's Eve.
  • They are the only team not to have scored from a corner in the Premier League this season.
  • Andreas Weimann's stoppage-time winner against Fulham in
Villa's last game was the first goal for four months to be scored by one
of the club's currently available forwards. Gabby Agbonlahor has gone
    13 matches without a top-flight goal.
Final say

Even though after winning 6 in a row, i can never be comfortable before a match. I will take any kind of win tomorrow. 1-0, 5-4, 10-9. Anything as long as its a win. Van persie is going through a goal drought so i hope he ends it tomorrow.

3-0 to the Arsenal

The one player that's always done well against us for Villa is Darren Bent. In that 2-1 win at the Emirates last season he scored both their goals, and in the 3-2 earlier this year in the FA Cup he scored again.

The fact that he's out for this one gives me more hope that we'll see a comfortable victory. I suspect McCleish will park the bus and try and get goals through set-pieces and counters, so we'll have to be solid at the back and make sure we don't give away too many silly free-kicks in dangerous areas.

One factor that might make this game more difficult is the early kick-off between Chelsea and Spurs. We'll be playing under slightly more pressure and expectation than usual and the team might bottle it, like how they almost bottled it against Newcastle.

At this stage a scrappy 1-0 win will suit me just fine, so long as it's a win.

Will be harder than most people think in my opinion. Aston Villa have a great record at the Emirates Stadium - and our meetings with this season (2-1 & 3-2) show how tight it will be.

Out of interest...

Arsenal team v Villa (1-1) 1st ever PL game at Emirates - Lehmann; Eboue Toure Djourou Hoyte; Ljungberg Fabregas Gilberto Hleb; Adebayor Henry

Could potentially be 4 points clear of Scum by the time MOTD rolls on to BBC1 tomorrow, assuming Chelsea do them

Chill Lex, dont get ahead of yourself Wink

If we concede first, it might jsut turn out to be a very frustrating game. McCleish is a c*nt and will put all his men in the 18 yard box for 90 mins.

Villa have a good record at the Emirates but always seem to play us when we're some form of rut. That 2-1 win last season was when we in relegation form, and the 3-2 FA Cup was on the back of three league defeats in a row.

So I like to think it won't be as hard with six straight wins under our belt.

Underestimate them and we'll lose. Simple as that. With that said, i'm hoping for a 3-0. Continue to send our rivals messages. Continue our good form. And improve our g/d which could be vital....

in Top 5 leagues in Europe only 3 teams(cagliari, cesena, sevilla)have worse chance conversion from set pieces than Aston Villa
villa record
chance created from set pieces:48/scored:2
chance conversion rate from set pieces:4.1 %
-------
we can always find a way to make it harder for ourselves but lets get early goal force them come at us and trash them
leading is key just like vs Toffees

with those players out(for them) seriously we have no choice BUT WINNING
also you should have put Mr consistency instead of Sagna's name Razz

Relieved to hear Bent is out, hoping for a draw from Chelski and Spuds.

I wonder if Gervinho will start over Walcott since he just played 80 minutes against Everton, I hope he does, Gervinho was showing slight improvement since AFCON and I hope he continues that against Villa, I feel like he's a confidence boost away from being a wrecking crew for us.

Nice preview RG. Liked the way you gave every player nick names. Smile

This is not going to be easy match but since thier key players are missing then we might see comfortable victory as Jay mentioned above. I am really glad to see that Richard Dunne wont make it because he always done great against us.

Great Preview RG.

I hope we can finish them off early, no bent will be a great news for us. I am sure will win the game. Walcott must show up, and Gervinho must start. Hope Ramsey is on the bench and Rosicky starts. eco smile

Hopefully we win no Bent is a huge plus.
Now just need Spurs and Chelsea to draw which I can definitely see happening.

RG thanks for the preview.

We should win this, you never know what will happen next week vs QPR away.

Aston Villa will most probably park two buses, that's why Gervinho/Ox have to play, score an early goal like vs Everton and play some tiki-taka then Very Happy
