After Pep's statements, singling out only Keita as a good person from the 20 players of the first team, the group "Homage to Keita" is considering to change its name to "homage to everyone in Barça but Keita". None of Barça's staff, directors and players, are good humans enough to share the locker room with the Guru Seydou Keita.

You know, I wish I knew Keita.

I kinda feel bad because we're always kinda hating on him (can't say it's not deserved) but it's not his fault. I bet Keita's a fantastic person and I wish I could meet him, since Pep thinks so highly of him but it's true that Pep has gone overboard with his Keita love.

I want him gone, but I feel guilty and bad for saying that- for I wouldn't want such a good person (from what I know of him) forced out. You know?

He does need to go though, it's JDS' time to come up to the first team and get some action.

You don't need to feel bad. I know many very good people, and they don't deserve a place in Barça's squad. Keita is a millionaire who has enjoyed many years at top flight, winning everything there is to win in club football. He is not good enough, and the fact he is a good person is not a reason to keep him playing that much.

Also, I felt it was outrageous that Pep only singled out Keita in his farewell. What about Xavi? Puyol? Iniesta? Abidal? Pedro? All these guys seem to me very good persons, they would deserve some praise too. No, only Keita deserves to be credit as the-best-person-evah.

It's like Seydou has brainwashed Guardiola into a muslim sect or something.

He must know that Kieta is going at the end of the season. Im sure there a more important people than Kieta who imo hasn't really changed the way a game is decided.

You're right. I just feel bad about singling out this one person and saying "you need to go", if he's a really good person, even if it's true.

It's more of a personal thing. I would not be good at firing people.

Don't really see why I'm over the top.
Didn't you feel those comments from Pep were outrageous? Singling out only Keita from all his players as a good person?
Disrespectful.

Keita's a good player imo. It's just that Pep putting him in at the wrong times made a lot of people hate on him. And you can't blame him for playing a lot, it's Pep's fault.

Wasnt Keita the only guy Pep mentioned in his goodbye message? that was awkward lol.

I hope he can join PSG, we lack real midfielders like him.

Although our new guide Tito Vilanova offered Keita to stay at Barça "if he wanted to", we can still hope to homage the humble malian as he deserves. It seems that Keita "wants" to play in a chinese club. Barça is not good enough for him.

Please, don't forget to vote in the new "homage to Keita" poll:

Do you think Barça should be a NGO that offered a contract to every person that "wanted to play at Barça"?

Yes/No

My vote obviously goes to Yes.

I would love to play for Barça, so I want the same chances as Keita. Very Happy

Midfielder Seydou Keita (32) will this weekend sign a contract for 2.5 years with Chinese club Dalian Aerbin.

Zhao Mingyang (Dalian Aerbin): "The whole operation will cost 14M, including legal fees. Keita's contract starts on 15 July." [via sina]

free_cat are you celebrating? No more Keita sub in just for the fact that he is good human being, no more playing him as DM and Busquets as CB, no more humility. Adios Keita.

My review of Keita's four years:

1st year - some good performances, mostly a sub, not overplayed. Good season for him
2nd year - overplayed a lot, average season, favored by Pep, terrible in first leg vs Inter, he took Yaya's minutes. Used far too much. Bad season. Highlight of the season = hattrick vs Zaragoza
3rd year - average season, some good performances, some bad ones. He shouldn't play as a sub vs Arsenal and vs Madrid in the League, he cost us a win in both games. Highlight of the season = assist to Messi vs Mallorca
4th year - very bad, a lot of bad performances, terrible as DM, not good enough for CM. He had one great game though, vs Sporting Gijon at CN. Worst game - vs Milan at San Siro, 1/4 UCL 1st Leg.

Good servant for a club, Pep's best friend. Thanks for 4 years, but it's time to move on. Shame though that he walked for free, the renewal which Rosell signed with him was ridiculous TBH - he had clause that if he didn't play 50% games from the start, he can walk for free. Adios Keita, take your humility to China.
