How highly do you rate Frank Rijkaard ?

Next to Van Basten my favorite of the AC Milan Dutch.

rijkaard was good.........but definitely 3rd out of the trio.

as a player fantastic, as a coach fantastic- but where is he now?

good question. he was in Turkey coaching a few years back if I remember correctly.

He is managing the Saudi atm

Saudi Arabia sacked him after they failed to qualify for the next world cup qualifying round.

As a coach, I'm shocked at how far he has fallen in standing after winning the Champions League.

He has basically been the foundation for all of Barca's success under Guardiola. In my opinion, Rijkaard did most of the hard work and Pep took advantage of the system that had been developed under Frank's guidance. I would gladly welcome Rijkaard back into Milan's coaching system sometime in the future, although not as head coach while Allegri is here doing a great job.

As a player, he will go down in history as part of the legendary Dutch trio - not merely because of his nationality though, he thoroughly earned his reputation and that's very difficult to do as a defensive midfielder.

GOAT player and GOAT-ish manager, i think hes fallen off the ball a bit there, no doubt hes got the potential to come back and be a successful manager at a big club but he could also go the Guus Hiddink route ie ride out his reputation as a CL winner and take on several high paying short term jobs with NTs and cashed up Anzi-esque sides
