Roma interested in Seydou Doumbia

Seydou Doumbia could be on his way out of CSKA Moscow at the end of the 2011-12 campaign as Roma have shown an interest in signing the Cote d'Ivoire international in the summer transfer window, Corriere delle Sera reports.


Doumbia will not be available on the cheap as he has a contract until June 2015 with CSKA, and an offer in the region of €20 million could be needed to lure him away from the Russian giants.

Doumbia joined CSKA Moscow from Young Boys in the summer of 2010, and has since become a key player at the Army Men.

The striker netted five times in seven Champions League appearances this term to help CSKA to the last 16 of the competition, where Real Madrid proved to be too strong, beating the Russians 5-2 on aggregate.

Good player, actually.

Would be superb at Juve or Inter, they could use a top quality young striker more than Roma.

Would like to see him at Milan, but that would mean Pato and Robinho leave - which I would not be opposed to provided that money is reinvested properly in the form of better replacements (like Doumbia)... which it almost certainly won't be for that price.

Not at all what we need lol, but I wouldn't be at all broken up about getting him. 20m is a bit steep, but his return has been very good for CSKA and he certainly an upgrade from Vagner Love, who we were linked heavily with last summer.

LE will never focus on defense, Sabatini will do that so if our interest is genuine, we may actually make a move for Doumbia.

this dude just bags goals. he looks sloppy as hell, but he produces. could be a great buy for roma, but the price may be a little steep especially if they dont necessarily have a need at that spot
